SDS is referencing the same Texas report though. So doesn’t seem like an independent report.

Yea....

(a) Has he ever been around Bill O'Brien?

(b) He thought he could be OC?

Who does he think he is? Scott Cochran?

Banks and O’Brien have no overlap in previous jobs. Never worked at the same schools at all. Unless they got in a tussle when O’Brien visited, this seems unlikely.

Banks was an assistant in 2012 at Virginia. Bill O’Brien was the head coach at Penn State. The Nittany Lions visited Charlottesville that season. That must be it.

He is a huge Texans fan I bet . He is like Coach he traded Hopkins straight up for a backup running back, don't hire him.

LOLOLOL

"Banks didn't like O'Brien because he thought it would be hard to work with him"

"What? Oh, no, Banks doesn't know O'Brien. He's just a disgruntled Texans fan"

Seriously though, can’t be that much harder than working for Saban.

I feel like option 2 is probably correct. More money and just recruiting texas kids to stay home sounds like a solid play

I just read another article from SDS, dated 9 days ago, that mentioned Sark would be raiding the Tide's staff...I just listed the pertinent stuff below:

quote:

Kyle Flood: Offensive coordinator/offensive line
AJ Milwee: Quarterbacks
Stan Drayton: Running backs
Holmon Wiggins: Wide receivers

Flood is currently the Alabama offensive line coach, while Milwee is an analyst but was also recently named the offensive coordinator at Arkansas State under new coach Butch Jones. Drayton, the Texas running backs coach, is expected to remain on the Longhorns staff. Wiggins is in his second season, the same tenure time as Flood, as wide receivers coach at Alabama.

Milwee is a former Akron offensive coordinator, and at 30 years old, was the second-youngest FBS coordinator at the time of his promotion.

FootballScoop noted that Milwee, “is expected to operate hand-in-glove with Sarkisian. While Sarkisian is anticipated to set the offense’s direction and call plays on game day, Milwee will assist Sarkisian in quarterback development and manage the day-to-day aspects of the position.”

There’s also this possibility: The above staff leaves open a tight ends position, which could potentially be filled by Alabama tight ends coach/special teams coordinator Jeff Banks, the report suggested.

It didn't mention Golding but I raised my eyebrow after reading that it mentioned Banks as well...

Are there any updates concerning Wiggins? I read a rumor a couple of weeks back that Sark would be pursuing him but not much since...

Texas retained Coleman as WRs coach. Wiggins could still go elsewhere, but Texas seems unlikely.

What positions are actually vacant right now?

OL (possibly Stoutland)
TE/ST

That's it for now right?

OC. I don’t think it has been finalized with BoB, but it is a matter of time.

You gotta rise above it. You gotta harness in the good energy, block out the bad. Harness. Energy. Block. Bad. Feel the flow, feel it. It's circular. You pay the quarter, you get on the horse, it goes up and down, and AROUND. It's circular. Circle, with the music, the flow. All good things.
