Pfff, dont be silly. Youre not bothering me. I would also hope my lack of belief in DeBoer doesn't put me on your ignore list geez

What if Cig loses to Cristobal? Also from the Saban tree. Back the Brinks truck up for Mario instead?

This game looks to be damn good fight in the trenches from my estimation. Mario has somehow managed to the clock to an average level.

ETA: I did post this a few days ago, prior to the beat down of Oregon, so obviously impressed with Cig………..

https://www.secrant.com/rant/alabama-sports/this-clone-couldnt-be-further-away-from-what-we-have-now-if-he-tried/122175292/

I don’t think you can realistically bring any coach in for 2026 that’s going to be an upgrade, given the circumstances…….…….

1) The Portal Window closes for most teams on January 16.

2) Do you really want to make a change after the portal closes, since that opens up the BAMA roster to be raided for two weeks? What is your backfill plan for players?

3) I’m more concerned about or GM and AD than I am DeBoer right now. Got to drop bags for quality linemen on both sides of the ball.

4) NEED MORE DOGS.

The ones calling teams soft can’t even define soft.

EDIT: Don’t discount the fact that Indiana has 45 players with 4+ years experience when all other teams are piecemealing rosters bc of NIL.

It’s old farts who crave being led by strongmen … not just in sports, that’s a hallmark of Alabama culture in general … who don’t have the intellectual ability to understand that Indiana’s success stems from way more than Cignetti being a hardass.

But Cignetti looks and acts like Saban, ergo he’s a Saban clone and will produce the same results, and above all he’ll put those uppity players in their place and show them that by God the game belongs to message board posting fans, not them and certainly not the federal judiciary.

It’s people stuck in a bubble who can’t see that the bubble has popped and the world is different. And there’s a subliminal fear that we can’t keep up financially with the big spenders … like Indiana … which actually is possible, so there’s a desperation that we’ve got to hire a hard arse who can coach ‘em up or we’re going to end up like Nebraska, a “once was” program. While at the same time they’re touting all the 4- and 5-stars we have.

When you watch Indiana’s OL you saw something we don’t have.

Quick, strong, smart. When they pulled the guards got out quick, got to the point and stuck someone. We simply didn’t have a guard I saw on the roster that can.

When they run block they move people. We don’t. Their experience and time in a good S&C program was glaring next to ours.

Bama needs to update IQ on the roster along with talent. We need more balance.

Cignetti is a one off. I am glad he is the talking point and the media darling but let's see how good IU is next year when the majority of their roster is gone and are in a rebuild. Yes, he had a great year, but his roster of seniors and super seniors helped with that. Now he had showed up to the table, but can he stay at it.

Did Curt not have to piecemeal his roster two years ago?

7 of 11 on offense and defense are transfers.

I'm just trying to imagine the absolute shite storm meltdown that would have occurred if Byrne had hired the nobody James Madison coach, and then the entire team of blue chips transferred out and the entire James Madison team had transferred here. Several of you, including the OP, would have literally died of rage strokes

You mean like the near 40 that left when Nick threw his keys at Byrne?

Sort of what is happening at AU right now. Hope not the same result in the end.

Every team left in the playoff a round ago were all from the Saban Tree. Every one of them except..., you guessed it Bama.

How is that a "bubble pop" or a different world ?

I'll say it again just the same as the Bear said it - "the same things win that always won." The teams that win it all will be tough, and ready to brawl in the trenches.

Sabans 08 team was a mix of inherited 3 stars sprinkled with a couple five stars, and those boys showed up and MAULED people in the trenches. Andre Smith, Mike Johnson, and Glen Coffee - EVERYONE in the staduim knew we were gonna run left and NOBODY could stop it.

Those boys damn near beat one of Floridas best teams ever led by Urban and Tebow. The 09 team came right back with that game circled and curb stomped the shite outta the best team UF has ever fielded.

If Cignetti is such a flash in the pan, how come he has won at every stop as a head coach? As he said in his introductory speech at IU, “I win. Google me.” This guy didn’t show up at Indiana and catch lightning in a bottle. Maybe Byrne should have been paying a little more attention to Saban disciples before he got handed a coaching search. It’s been said before and I’ll say it again. The same things win that have always won: discipline, execution, running the ball, and defense. That’s why Indiana is going to roll into Hard Rock stadium and manhandle Miami just like they did everyone else this year. It might not be a 30 point beatdown, but they will be hoisting the trophy.

It’s not IU’s players, it’s the way Cignetti has prepared them that is making the difference.
