I guess the pipe dream of Ryans to Bama as the DC probably won't happen. But come on, Bama DC job > Broncos HC job

I'm not convinced Kingsbury is even a great OC. He made his name with Manziel and Mahomes as his QBs, and hasn't really done shite outside of that.

Don’t you think he had a lot to do with their development? Doesn’t he deserve credit for coaching 2 different styles of QB so well?

Ryans isn’t coming to Bama as a DC but he could be a great candidate to replace Saban 8-10 years.

Seems like Cliff Kingsbury has been fired in Arizona. Is he a guy we should be looking at as our OC replacement assuming BOB is gone?

KK is a dream OC imho but he’s not coming he’ll probably get another chance to be a HC in the NFL and if not he’ll be a HC in college next season.

He may be fine with Bama's talent but he is overrated. All those Cardinals teams had mediocre offensive DVOAs and some subpar weighted offensive DVOAs. Dude has produced a ton of empty calories with meaningless yards. He will piss a lot of people off with his late season/late game play calling. He also had the fortune of having Johnny Manziel, Patrick Mahomes and Kyler Murray be able to scramble and make chicken salad out of chicken shite for a big part of his career. I don't think anyone has had that collection of QBs that could produce off script like that. With that being said I would love to see what kind of QBs he would recruit.

Do you give Bill O'Brien credit for Bryce Young's Heisman winning year? Not trying to be snarky, but some players are so naturally gifted, a chimp could be their OC and they'd still be successful.

Having said that, I don't think Kingsbury is awful or anything, I just think that he's overrated.

Why? He sucks. Dude went 12-13 with Patrick Mahomes as his starting QB at Texas Tech.

I don’t get why ppl bring this up. Like they wouldn’t have a great dual threat QB at Bama or something the way we recruit the position right now?

I bring it up cause there is a difference between having a great dual threat QB and having 3 of the best of all time at turning a busted play into a first down or chunk play. They have inflated his stats and bailed him on out on plays that 99% of QBs would have to give up on. As much as I love Bryce and Tua (who were good extending plays in their own right) they could not do the things those guys could do when a play broke down. If Ty, Jalen or a future Bama QB is as good as those guys in that category and he is able to keep that streak alive if he became Bama OC more power to him but even as good as Bama recruits there is no guarantee you are going to land guys like that.

Bryce is right up there with those guys (on the college level) at making chicken salad out of chicken shite IMO

Definitely great, but he reminds me more of Russell Wilson in that capacity. Moving around and making plays in the intermediate to move the sticks when everything breaks down. They do what needs to be done but it doesn't necessarily lead the gaudy numbers as frequently.

The difference with the other guys is more big play ability in those situations. Kingsbury has had the benefit of Manziel and Murray's explosiveness (along with Mike Evans and DeAndre Hopkins) and Mahomes arm talent to pad his stats all while not winning much, outside his year with Manziel, and having mediocre advanced offensive stats at least in the pros anyway.

I don't believe he is bad just overrated. Maybe he comes to Bama with this level of talent and blows it out the water but I do believe his rep is a little inflated.

I agree, but he’s gonna get HC interviews if he wants them
