I doubt they are anticipating any singular particular thing right now, but there are lots of potential scenarios. Either way we are likely to lose at least 1 QB every offseason with the way kids can freely move now. It's smart to add a guy who is ok being a second QB in the class.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m not sure Saban ever had this much talent at one time in the QB room.

Other than that, he also routinely had a consistent starter to backup handoff where I think we could've won games with the backup if it came down to it. The years where Blake Sims backed up AJ McCarron might be the exception but then he took over for AJ and had a surprisingly great year.

Until the Jalen Hurts era happened, the qb management left something to desire.

Yeah because the three other QBs who won NC sucked including the one who won it twice.

Yeah this kinda sucks. So we can revenue share at a capped number and you still have the Texas schools and Michigan and OSU outbidding everyone through boosters.

I still don’t see that as sustainable. I might be wrong.

They are going to have to collectively bargain with the players for this stuff to make sense.

Form a union like the NFL Player's Association and negotiate terms as a whole.

It's the only way to keep the playing field somewhat level.
