Ponatoski is likely to be a 1st rd draft pick (or at least a high enough round for him to likely not turn it down) in the upcoming MLB draft.

That makes 4 commits from the state of AL? So much for Hugh Freeze locking down in-state recruiting

It seems like to me that DeBoer wants to get as many in state guys as possible, as in in state fan loyalty to a program might prove to have a lot of value along with 5 star talent in an age of transfers. Wont have as many transfers if your guys believe in the university.

I mean, that was the model until the last 20 or so years: you built the bulk of your roster on in-state or nearby counties in neighboring states and made selective excursions nationally for prospects that could make a big difference. I don't think we're going back to the days where an Alabama team is 75-90% Alabama, Panhandle Florida, Eastern Mississippi, etc players though.

Absolutely this. You need to start (to an extent) returning to the guys that WANT to be a part of the brand. Those aren't going anywhere for an extra 100K in the portal.

This staff is absolutely killing it right now.

I'd like to see another highly rated OL added to the class, but after last year's that's probably a tough ask.

It’s still early, and there’s a lot of movement in season, then all star games as well. Could see some 3 stars trend up to 4 stars if they have a good year and show out post season

Do we have a shot at Deacon Schmidt or is he a Sooner?

Would be a MASSIVE get for Bama. Don’t think this affects Tank Jones either, as I discussed last night on the live show — especially if Xavier Griffin plays off the ball.

Jamarion Matthews (pure Bandit)
Nolan Wilson (Bandit w/inside versatility)
Tank Jones (Wolf/potential Bandit)
Kam Johnson (IDL in 4-man/DE in 3-man)
JJ Finch (IDL in 4-man/DE in 3-man)
Xavier Griffin (off-ball/situational WOLF)
Zay Hall (off-ball/maybe situational WOLF)

Wilson’s inside versatility helps with IDL concerns in this class. Griffin’s off-ball versatility helps address concerns at inside LB in this class. You can fit them all into this group and they won’t be stepping on each other’s toes much (if any). Easy sell.

First things first I wanna give thanks to the Man Above for the opportunities and the doors he has opened and closed for me, I also want to thank my beautiful mother, being a single parent raising two young men ain’t easy and i’m very thankful to have her as a mother. Well that being said i’ve decided to shut my recruitment down and stay home!! #RollTide

I’m happy Freddie is having a good DL pull, especially if we can keep Wilson (if he commits). Homegrown alumni who can keep a stable tie to the local schools for recruiting, and he’ll only leave for an actual career advancement

Having some of these old Saban guys still around gives me confidence that DeBoer can take some of the great aspects of his program style and incorporate it into his new one

Thought we were after Ponatoski as our 2nd QB in this class?

BOL didn't mention Ponatoski as an option for the 2nd QB in the article they released this afternoon.
