Hearing he might be interested in playing another position in college. We will see.

Looks like Keelon Russell will move up. But not five star status just yet.

That o-line class might end up being the best in the history of Bama football. I know, big statement. And Justus Terry ending up at Bama. That would be very sweet and very surprising.

He will never be a 5 star then. He has proved it on the field and at camps. Maybe he can light up the all star games if he plays in them.

On3 only has 15 5 stars now. They will have 32 by the end so he will have a shot.

Strangely, Travis Smith Jr got a Futurecast from Speigs to Bama on Rivals and a CB to TN on 247 from a GA mod. . Means he is definitely going to Oregon.

Justus Terry was 10 and a 5 star also

Tim Watts said they don't expect him in Alabama's class FWIW.

Speigs is just your typical uninformed LSU fan.

The final reranking will be after the season, I believe. Top 32 players will be 5 star at that point.

The initial evaluation on Russell is still holding him back. No way he was jumping 60 plus spots. But if he continues to dominate this fall, he will be a top 32 player by the final rankings.

Fact or Fiction: Michael Carroll will be Alabama's biggest rankings riser

quote:

Friedman: FACT. Michael Carroll’s development year over year is very encouraging and his most recent performance at the Rivals Five-Star in Jacksonville answered a lot of questions. Officially measuring in at 6-foot-6 and 316 pounds with 34-inch arms, Carroll possesses the physical and athletic traits to play tackle or guard at the next level. He has plenty of experience at guard, too. That versatility should help him in the rankings updated.

Of course, Carroll isn’t the only potential riser in Alabama’s recruiting class. Quarterback Keelon Russell has had a fantastic offseason thus far. Offensive tackle Jackson Lloyd is under the microscope as well. Carroll, however, has a chance to be the biggest riser of the bunch.

Knowlton: FACT. During the Rivals Five-Star, Carroll dominated against the best defensive line competition he's faced in his prep career. Carroll continues to add mass to his already extremely impressive 6-foot-6, 300-pound frame and plays with a ton of athleticism that should project him as a versatile fit at either guard or tackle in Alabama's offensive line when he reaches the collegiate level.

There's no doubt Carroll has home-run potential and has only added to his game this offseason. While several Crimson Tide commits should get a bump – including Keelon Russell who could potentially reach five-star status – Carroll will likely see the biggest rise from his current position at No. 185.

What amazes me is how a Duncanville QB with accomplishments could have ever been so underrated

I get what you're saying but Carroll just jumped from 185 to 12th.

247 has updated their Composite ranking. Bama now has three 5-stars, with Russell moving up to #24 overall and earning his 5th star in the Composite ranking:
