Bone on BOL has covered the topic of DL a few times. Basically we like the two we have for 2024 and we hit a grand slam with the 2023 class. Most everyone is back next year. And any unexpected departures could be supplemented by the portal.

The portal? That's kind of a crap shoot. You usually don't see very many good ones in the portal and the ones you do see, you wonder if the kid has a bad attitude or is coming off some horrific injury.
There's a multitude of kids who signed with lesser programs, drastically improved, and now want to play on the "big stage" for recognition and future NFL benefits.
All a school like Alabama has to do is put the word on what they're looking for.

Alabama is going all in on the in-state class for 2025.

How are y'all feeling about the class so far? Haven't been around here too much.

The 2025 in-state class is pretty deep. So yeah, it’s a good thing. But I think NIL and the portal has required a shift to more in-state kids. Of course that could just be a coincidence.

A very solid class. Not as much star power but it’s meeting all the needs.

2024 4-star RB Daniel Hill (Meridian, MS)

He keeps visiting nearly every week. His parents want him at Alabama. But he’s hesitant over the depth chart.

That's odd, because the depth chart seems pretty favorable. Jase and Roydell will be gone, right? That leaves Justice Haynes,Jamarion Miller, and Richard Young. Justice hasn't played a lot at RB this year, Richard Young hasn't played at all. Jamarion Miller and Justice Haynes have both struggled with blocking. If Hill can block as well as run and catch, he should see early action in our RB rotation.

I’ll be honest. Surge got on almost all of my nerves, but since he passed, it’s difficult to come in here. I couldn’t even tell you who we have committed or the top recruits. This year will be different, to say the least

Really excited about the top end of the class. Sayin, Mwbakwe, Brown, Odom and Beaman are outstanding. Could seem them as rotation or starters next year, real impact potential especially Sayin and Mwbakwe. I think Sterling Dixon is underrated. Nervous about the lesser know guys but like that most are from Bama. Hoping there is a diamond in the rough, overlooked, school-state pride element with them that will make them dogs like in the early Saban era.

I know exactly what you mean, I feel the same way. I didn’t even mean to click on this thread.

I believe some of the lower end guys in this class are going to prove to be underrated as well. Casey Poe, William Sanders, Red Morgan, and Quinton Reese all look like football players to me. Solid class so far
