I know Robbie personally. He (his mother Beverly) was actually excited about Alabama in freshman/sophomore year but during that junior year things changed. She had left the country focus on her political career and they basically were raising themselves because their father had some issues and struggle with his own career and marriage life.
This is where things kind of made a left turn with Bryan and Denzel... which of course affected their youngster brother Robbie.
Anyways, login story short (not going to go into more detail than that) both younger brothers were going through the recruiting process with too many other interested parties playing factors. When it was Robbie's turn he felt a connection (other stuff here as well as you can assume) with Clemson but his mom wanted to keep the boys close because of circumstances which had occurred due to the absence of both parents.
So it basically ended up being a "if you got Denzel you get Robert". He did in fact try to help teammates but that's because Robbie was genuinely a good kid. Neither brother would admit this to me but Ole Miss was a horrible option, did nothing to develop them and only allowed an environment which hampered the greatness they could have achieved.
They needed the structure of Saban and Alabama. Before their mother left they seemed pretty much headed for that as well.

By the way, Rodney Orr mentions in-state TE Jay Lindsey as one to keep an eye on. I'm guessing likely a flip to Bama (currently committed to Miss State) in the next week or so. 6'4"+ 235, ran a 4.66 at Bama's camp. Plays at a very small school, but shined at Bama camp against elite competition. Was pushed forward a year at some point recently, so he's just 16.

What class is the guy? 16 is really young. Even starting college at 17 would be pretty difficult for most.

BOL has been bullish on him flipping to Alabama as well. Grew up a massive Alabama fan but has only remained committed to Miss State since they were on him early. Seems the Alabama offer surprised him.

The current class (entering their senior season). Class of 2024.

Bolden to FSU. For now, anyways. Crazy recruitment.

Better there than Auburn. Many people thought that the barn really had a chance.

We’ll see him in 2025 and 2026 I suppose

He has always been about the money. FSU and AU are the two schools this year that didn't learn from TAMUs mistake.
