I get the feeling this is like one of the Bama commit, Big Cat flip, signing day Bama signing deals like in the past. I dunno why. I have hardly followed recruiting closely at all in years. It just has that smell to it.

You’re an idiot I’m sorry. Every statistic even in the NIL era (Bama has been publicly known to be throwing around more than Auburn) says Bama, UGA, and OSU gets most the elite prospects. Has NIL made it more spread out? Yep but based on facts and our 2023 and 2025 classes it’s still holding true. Auburn has got many players in the past but what usually happens? We end up winning rings and they end up with a few good seasons and a Birmingham bowl. It’s not changing

I’m keeping it respectful. If you disagree with me, that’s fine. But we’re Alabama fans; that means we should have class whether we agree or disagree.

A commitment in July means nothing.

Lol at anybody that worries about Alabama recruiting

This.
Even if we only finish with the 2 five stars we now have, I guess we’ll just have to make do with the combined 11 that gives us in the last two years.
Only averaging 6.5 five stars in two years, lord please help us

We do need to shore up in state recruiting though, can't let Georgia, Clemson, and the barn take the best in state players. With freeze im pretty sure they are just backing up a dump truck of nil to these guys. This year so far has been a bit of a miss on what should have been a big haul, as there were lots of elite state players. Maybe the staff shake up had an impact on the relationships. Long time until signing day, I think if we have an up to snuff season this year it might help

Thompson may have been sold he will be the Julio Jones for Auburn. We'll see.

I doubt that was the real reason for his flipping to them, but I tend to be cynical when it comes to Auburn recruiting.

Did we have a big recruiting weekend? Thought I saw where it was this weekend.

Eh yes and no. They have more elite players but if you go through history of metro Atlanta kids like Trevor Lawrence, Carl Lawson, Arik Gilbert, Derrick Brown, Caleb Downs, Justice Haynes, Sammy Brown, Travis Hunter etc. with KJ Bolden potentially doing it too, those were all considered cant miss players elite kids that they missed that’s not good. The difference is now they’re rolling so they recruit nationally so well (just like we do) and even tho Atlanta kids seem to leave the state more often the rural kids, Savannah kids, Augusta kids still seem to be Georgia locks so it all works out. Don’t get twisted tho I know Kirby dreams at night of having Caleb Downs, Justice Haynes, Sammy Brown, and Travis Hunter on the roster. It proves that every program has its challenges. Auburn is back to being a challenge for us but trust in Nick he will handle it.

We did! The cookout is more about solidifying the commits we have and building ties with future classes and it Seems we did that. An elite 2025 class is being put together, I know it’s a while away but it’s looking incredible already. For this class 2024 the big news is top 100 WR Amari Jefferson (especially now with that one Wr I won’t name leaving for lee county) he would be a huge get and all signs point to us having a real good shot, he commits next week I think.

No problem! And for the rest of the board that want the details, Amari Jefferson seems to be down to us and Tennessee. He is committed to the Vols for baseball but has made it clear this is a football decision and will play baseball second. Coming out of the cookout I would say we’re the favorites but as we know anything can happen in a week. If any intel breaks I’ll add it here.

I have to say, I'm a little surprised at the level of coverage Auburn is getting based on the Thompson / Riddick flips. Birmingham media (I know, I know) are making it sound like this is the beginning of the renaissance of Auburn football, and comparing it to Saban's 2008 recruiting efforts.
Granted, this is the best recruiting news Auburn has had in several years, and the fact that they were able to flip a player from both Georgia and Alabama makes it news ... but it's a looong way to the early signing period.
I'm not convinced Auburn will hold on to either of these guys. I'm particularly interested to see if they hold on to Thompson, because I'm not convinced Auburn has a quarterback who will be particularly successful throwing the ball this year -- at least not to wide receivers.

Eh, they've got Walker White coming in next year and the transfer portal can change things quickly.
I'm more interested to see if they can reel in Bolden.

Commitments mean nothing today. If Julio Jones wants Thompson at Bama, that’s where he’ll go. Never count Saban out!
