I thought it would be impossible for people to forget that RPM especially since he did it either the day before or day of Young's commitment to Bama.

OL needs to be priority #1 next class. Bama needs to lock down an elite OT and OG

Steve Wiltfong put together a bold prediction article regarding the Top 10 uncommitted prospects. Here are his predictions:

Matayo Uiagalelei - Ohio State
Nyckoles Harbor - Michigan
Samson Okunlola - Miami
James Smith - Alabama
Damon Wilson - Georgia

Saw this post from a while back, this is where things stand since that bold predictions article for a few guys:

Trending Tenner

Seems to be trending OSU a bit, but toss up

James Smith - Alabama

I really don't know what to expect with Smith and Russaw. They are enjoying the process for sure.

It's awesome to have so many EEs this year. That's going to be a huge help in replacing the guys leaving (especially if one or both coordinators get replaced).

While I don’t think receiver is a dire need, I would not mind us going after Grant Dubose in the transfer portal.

Tuesdays with Gorney: Prospects in the mix for five-star status

quote:

RB Justice Haynes

Is there going to be a five-star running back in this class? The Alabama commit from Buford, Ga., is currently the top-rated player at the position. He comes from an NFL pedigree (his dad Verron played at Georgia and then in the pros) and Haynes finished with 1,695 rushing yards and 28 total touchdowns this season.

There’s no doubt the position has been devalued in the NFL Draft, but Haynes is special.

LB Qua Russaw

What makes Russaw so special is that he can line up as an edge rusher, as a middle linebacker – basically anywhere on the field – and he plays with such controlled aggression that he is a tackling machine.

The four-star from Montgomery (Ala.) Carver attacks, hits people with intensity and tracks from sideline to sideline like maybe nobody else in this class. Russaw can get pressure on the quarterback, run down the ball carrier and he packs a punch with almost every tackle.

S Caleb Downs

There might not be a defensive back in the 2023 class who is just a straight baller like Downs, who always is in the right position, always is there to make the play and has the physical and athletic tools to make things happen.

The Alabama commit from Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek is the brother of North Carolina receiver Josh Downs, who’s having a great career in Chapel Hill. The 2023 safety could be even more impactful for the Crimson Tide.

Both are a must get . Smith is such a quick Dlinemen like Q. Williams and Russaw if playing MLB which I think Bama wants him, is the closes to Ruben Foster to come out since he played. Plus he looks a little bigger and can play outside too. Film looks great.

IMO, ( doesn’t mean much) we’ll have to outbid Awbarn to get their services. Do we play or pass?

You play, because it's legal with NIL.

If Alabama can't outbid Auburn in NIL deals, then the future is bleak.

It’s not legal. Of course if you don’t care about legalities no one can stop you. As far as we know Saban doesn’t play that game.

Tennessee is about to sign a QB with a multimillion dollar NIL deal.

They aren't hiding it because there isn't anyone can do about it. OL get 50k just to go to Texas now.

If Saban doesn't get aboard the NIL train, then he needs to retire. NIL is here to stay.

several close to the program expect the Barn to make a huge desperation splash NIL offering and eventually get Smith and Russaw.

Just curious, anything rumors talk about Tony Mitchell? He was back at the barn last weekend, and visited them multiple times.
