That is why I said he may jump at this if he feels it is his last chance. It has been a tough road back for him. However if he had another record breaking season with Tua next year, I think his door will be open as wide as it has ever been for him since New Mexico. I hope the best for Locks, but he is setup for failure at Maryland if he takes the job this year.

Locks has already done this at Maryland as OC. He pulled in several 5* and 4* against the likes of tOSU and Bama.

All of the 4* & 5* kids landed by Maryland while Locksley was OC and interim HC there (link) --

2012: MD 1 5*, 1 4*; MA 1 4*
2013: MD 2 4*; Juco 1 4*
2014: MD 1 5*, 1 4*; VA 1 4*; NJ 1 4*
2015: MD 2 4*

Only 2-3 4*-5* per year, the rest were 3* or lower.

We have seem to have built a strong pipeline into DMV and was there even before Locks joined our staff. Even if he ends up back at UM those players want a chance to compete for the title. Maryland will never see that.

I disagree. Everyone knows Tua is a rare talent and while Locksley is a respected offensive mind and recruiter working with Tua is likely not benefiting his reputation much because Tua is so good. Maryland is a tough job for anyone and I think 9-10 wins is the best that program can do. So, it's not a high pressure job. But, I've read Locksley has a good relationship with Under Armour's founder so that accounts for a lot. And, the DMV is a nice place to live and it's Locksley home. I think if he gets the offer Locksley is gone.

I bet Saban is really getting tired of this.. you could tell it really pissed him off last year. This is one of the only stresses he has now with the process. It has to get old

Agreed. His name is as good as it gets right now. I don't see him getting any other, more high profile, job offers next year. Might as well take the money now.

Not a single mention of Gattis, who’s actually the co-OC.

Gattis is currently in the running for the HC job at Charlotte.

Alabama alum and Browns offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens made a bet with his running back Nick Chubb about his Dawgs Saturday.

Should Georgia take down the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship, Chubb gets to call plays for Cleveland

Why the love for Freeze? Besides the fact he's a smarmy hypocrite, I don't want him anywhere near an Alabama offense. Did Ole Miss ever even try to run the ball? Do. Not. Want.

Enos has been who I have wanted for awhile now.

This may be the case he might jump at it. However he is going to have a new President, an AD who is on thin ice and a clown show for a Board of Regents. AD Evans and Locks are going to have to be squeaky clean because not everybody is going to be supportive of his hire because of his history. This should make him think twice. From anecdotal evidence of University Presidents and BORs and from seeing how ADs act he is walking into a likely doomed situation.

But I definitely agree this seems like his best or possibly only chance at a P5 for him. On the surface it seems like a good match but unless I was desperate to be P5 HC I would have serious reservations. I still think he could increase his stock for a high level mid-major and show he can run a program but I doubt that is what he wants. I don't think he has hit his ceiling in our OC position.

Per Bone on BI: Going forward
there are three possibilities: 1) Kids get asked to grayshirt. 2) Kids get asked to blueshirt 3) Some of our top remaining targets end up not having a spot.

WHO?

I am sure he would be one of those asked to blue/gray shirt but please don’t screw up the kicker!!

I just do not see Tyson doing that. Other kids could as well and he could go anywhere and get a full ride. Asking him to do that is basically telling him Tualia is the next man up and so if I was Tyson I might look elsewhere.

The Bryant family fortune will pay for Tyson's education. It just won't be made public.

Not sure of the rules but I have wondered if he actually is a “signee”. If he was recruited not certain he can “ blueshift”? May be one reason we can take more players than some think?? IDK

We might have enough room for everyone we want/get without anyone having to grayshirt or drop out of the class.

I think we have 3-4 unused 2018-19 academic signing limit spots we can use for early enrollees, but they'd still be 2019-20 initial counters. That would enable us to take 3-4 nonrecruited players (no off campus meeting, OV or NLI) as blueshirts (arrive for fall camp, enroll on fall scholarship) within our 2019-20 academic year's 25 signings limit. The blueshirts would be 2019-20 signees but 2020-class inital counters. (explanation) The Top Targets list notes early enrollees. Kids who officially visited Bama can't be blueshirts.

If Jordan Davis didn't actually sign an NLI and/or if Layne Hatcher isn't on a football scolarship that would give us 1-2 more spots. If we indeed have those two spots and the above stuff is correct about being able to take 3-4 blueshirts, that's potentially 31 spots total.

Tyson will probably enroll early. Maybe his family would pay his way through next fall if needed to enable us to sign one more.

Some Possibilities:
Eboigbe may flip
Turnage may still flip, Ole Miss will turn up heat on OV.
I don't think TE is crucial. Zipperer may get left out.
Tanner Bowles may look elsewhere if we get 2 more 5* OL
JMO, I think pola-Gates gets left out. Waiting too long
