I'm going to Six Flags over Georgia today.

Hopefully we get a commitment while I'm away.

just watched Deondrick Glass mid senior highlights . Great balance, and thick lower legs , not breakaway speed but good speed he’s one to watch for with his official I think on the ninth. Everyone say we feel good on Trey Sanders but nothing’s for sure this kid is good

Fwiw, I have read a couple other places to be leary watching his highlights, he runs behind the biggest OL in Texas which is also quite talented. Katy supposedly has a huge talented OL every year and has quite a few busts at RB in college because they look so good running behind that line.

Surge do you know if Bama has any shot at Arik Gilbert, or is this kid a slam dunk uga guy ?

Speaking of uga they may not be done with the decommitments.

I wonder if they have a few pissed off players not getting playing time telling guys they better run for the hills like our ole buddy Alvin Kamara ?

Here is my question about George Pickens and really any other wide receiver when it comes to picking between Alabama and Auburn strictly pertaining to football. (I know part of this has been academics for GP and other things can also influence a person's recruitment.)

What is the appeal of Auburn? I know we get the RB dominant reputation but since 2005 Auburn has produced a more profilic passing offense than us only twice, in 2009 and 2017. It is pretty obvious 2017 was an anomaly due to Hurts' limitations as a passer at the time.

In that time we have had DJ Hall, Julio Jones, Amari Cooper, and Calvin Ridley. Statistically Marquis Maze, ArDarius Stewart, and OJ Howard all rank higher in career catches than many of their guys. The doesn't even include the four guys we have there now who are all NFL talent.

There best wide receivers of this era for Auburn are Courtney Taylor, Darvin Adams, Emory Blake, Sammie Coates, and Ryan Davis. Look at that list of names next to our top guys. Mahlzan's offense is a spread but it has often been more power run than we are. I just don't get it. Then again I guess that is why Ross and Collins went out of state.

Arik Gilbert did visit Bama on June 13 and June 22, but he has 6 UGA CBs. One of those CBs is from Hank (BOL), which isn't a good sign. Hank doesn't make a CB forecast unless he's pretty confident about it.

"We have been trying to throw the ball, but we haven't had anyone like you to throw it to" and "look at how we have 4 WRs on the field all the time. You'll come in and play early."

I can kind of the see the first part although I would hope they would look at the QB play (using this logic though it makes since that Stidham vs Hurts from last year that AU would be more appealing). In regards to playing early freshman wideouts generally play if they are good enough. Both Waddle and Ross are playing and both Bama and Clemson are stacked at wide receiver.

But I get what you are saying that, that is the pitch. Just seems like a bad one.

Tim Watts (BOL) said today that Wandale Robinson is likely to announce a commitment this week and said it's unclear whether Bama would take it now if he picks Bama over OSU, UK or Nebraska. Iow, Bama may only have room for one more WR -- Robinson or Pickens.

If they're not gonna tell Metchie to look elsewhere to make room for Robinson and Pickens then Gattis must be sky high on Metchie.

Does Wandale have a preference for position in college? OSU just had that RB commit flip to Indiana. I wonder if that has changed things with him.

If he does want to pick us that leads to an interesting dilemma. Hold off for the big body elite WR who might not qualify or go with the guy who might be Waddle 2.0. Personally I would rather pass this year and go with defensive depth and look to lock down some guys next year. Man it has to be tough making these decisions.

The word from BOL is that Metchie is a keeper. He's a physical, productive, versatile WR and a very good safety too.

Bama's pitch to Wandale Robinson is WR/APB hybrid, which appeals to him. I think he's gotten basically that same pitch from OSU, UK and Nebraska. Definitely a tough decision for us as he's a great talent. But with Waddle, Townsend, Ford & Bolden on the roster and Keilan Robinson committed, very limited space left and our higher priority needs, I think he'll probably commit to OSU or UK and we'll keep trying to flip Pickens.

I wonder if this is why we want to keep him. Play either side of the ball and a great athlete.

Saw a video of Metchie and how he got hurt early on in highschool. I think he is our type of guy based on work ethic. I would rather have Robinson as well. I would rather have Robinson than Pickens if he wasnt from Alabama. The guy we need to tell to look somewhere else is that rb.

The "our type of guy" attributes you like about John Metchie also apply to Keilan Robinson. Both are keepers.

ETA: I haven't seen anything from credible sources saying Bama is expected to part ways with any current commits except for Rashad Cheney. From what I've seen, Bama wants to avoid taking commitments they might not keep.
