I hope you aren't pitching in the All-star game or close to throwing a no hitter anytime soon

Let me reiterate, LSU fans should consider themselves lucky that there are even 25 kids out there dumb enough to want to play for a joke like Yaw Yaw. Any player with options should stay as far away from that clown car as he can.

LINK ]Five-star Nakobe Dean on FSU visit: "They showed me everything" (Noles247)

quote:

TALLAHASSEE -- Five-star linebacker Nakobe Dean has been trying to get to Florida State for a visit for a few months, but each time his plans have fallen through. But not this weekend. Dean and his family arrived in Tallahassee on Thursday and stayed through the Seminoles Saturday Night Live event.

“It was great, I’ve never been, I didn’t know what to expect, but it was great,” Dean told Noles247. “I was trying to see how they coach here and everything. They showed me everything. The culture here is real chill, real laid back and real comfortable for me, actually. It matches my personality.”

Dean, from Mississippi, began his visit on Thursday and it will conclude on Sunday. Since it is his first trip to FSU, Dean spent a majority of his time with Willie Taggart.

“Coach Taggart is real cool, I feel comfortable, I feel more comfortable here than some places that I’ve been to a couple times. That’s very important, it’s up there with education. I just wanted to see it, give it a chance, I love it,” Dean said.

During the Saturday Night Live camp, Dean worked closely with linebacker coach Raymond Woodie. “Coach Woodie knows his ball, we’re always talking on the phone, constant communication is what I like about him.”

FSU running back Cam Akers is also from Mississippi and the two have bonded over the past few days. “We’ve been talking for the last couple days and I think I’m about to go hangout with him now. He’s great,” Dean said.

What about this visit stood out the most to Dean? “Definitely the culture, how everything is run, how cool and collective they are, how real they are. Them being an ACC school, I’m used to going to SEC schools, so I compare it a little bit.”

Dean goes back to school on August 6th. He says he plans on trimming his enormous list of offers down to a top five before his summer ends. He will then take all or most of his official visits in the fall and make a decision sometime in December.

LINK ]FSU puts the finishing touches on Nakobe Dean's visit on Sunday (Noles247)

quote:

TALLAHASSEE -- Horn Lake (Miss.) five-star linebacker Nakobe Dean visited Florida State over the last several days. His visit wrapped on Sunday morning when he, along with five other family members, did brunch with the coaching staff and had a chance to meet some more with his prospective position coach and head coach.

"This morning I just got to have a sit-down meeting with [linebackers] Coach [Raymond] Woodie. We talked a little about everything," Dean said. "I got to talk to [head] Coach [Willie] Taggart a little bit more." "It just made it that more comfortable for me to be able to communicate and just made me fall in love with the University even more," Dean added of his Sunday morning conversations.

Dean, who spoke at length on Saturday evening about the visit to that point, reflected on the entirety of his visit as he got into the car to head home on Sunday afternoon. "It has been great," Dean aid. "I'm going to be honest. I was very comfortable on the visit. I didn't feel like I was tight or anything. They made me feel at home to be honest for the first time I was here. "It was different from the way I feel at other places the first time going there," Dean added.

With the summer coming to an end, Dean, who is an early enrollee, is turning his attention to the final stretch of his recruitment. "Officials, definitely," Dean said of what is next. "Probably no more unofficials." Does he intend to use all five officials before making a final decision? "Of course," Dean said. At this time, Dean said he has locked in officials to Georgia and LSU.

Is FSU likely to get him back on campus for an official visit? "Yeah I do expect one to be here," Dean said. Entering his visit to FSU in recent days, was a return visit, an official visit, a likelihood for the Seminoles? "No, as a matter of fact it wasn't even on my mind," Dean said. What changed his mind was the last 72 hours? "The visit," Dean said.

One final note on Dean, while he was generally reserved in tipping his hand on a favorite or a decision, his mother wasn't as tight-lipped. As his mother left the Moore Center at FSU to head to the car and leave town, she let her feelings be known by stating, 'If I could sign for him it would be Florida State.'

FSU currently claims no predictions on the 247Sports.com Crystal Ball. Georgia leads Ole Miss and Alabama in predictions. Dean is considered the No. 15 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 1 inside linebacker in the 2019 class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Here's my favorite quote from the LSU recruiting board at the moment:

quote:

If Saban is so great at coaching, why has he never had an overachieving team?

They're still the most delusional fanbase I've ever seen. Maybe in all of sports.

That's some fine thinking right there. If he's so great, why doesn't he have more than 6 championships? We have a real winner at LSU. A coach who brings with him expectations so low that anything counts as overachievement.

LINK ]Georgia trending with DB Tyrique Stevenson (Swamp247)

quote:

When current Miami (Fla.) Southridge defensive back Tyrique Stevenson de-committed from Florida back in December, many predicted the 6-foot-1, 200-pound prospect would eventually pick the hometown Miami Hurricanes. At the time, Miami certainly had all the momentum in Stevenson’s recruitment.

As we enter the fall and Stevenson has taken several offseason campus visits, it appears a new team is now trending in this recruitment. The Georgia Bulldogs have received five new predictions for Stevenson on the 247Sports Crystal Ball in recent days.

Stevenson opted for a trip to Athens back in May over one to Florida for the Gators Great Grill Out. This past weekend, he returned to UGA again over Miami’s Paradise Camp. Sandwiched between those visits was another to Georgia in June. Miami continues to get Stevenson on campus as well, a benefit of being the local program.

Regardless, many see Georgia quickly becoming the team to beat in this recruitment the further it stretches out. The Bulldogs along with Miami and Penn State are three schools that Stevenson has mentioned as official visit destinations during the fall. He plans to be a December graduate and enroll early, therefore Stevenson plans to sign with the school of his choice during the Early Signing Period.

Earlier this summer, Stevenson put up impressive combine testing numbers at The Opening Finals in Frisco, Texas. There he blazed a 4.49-second forty and a 4.31-second short shuttle, while recording a 39 inch vertical jump.

The 247Sports Composite, an industry generated average, currently ranks Stevenson as the nation’s No. 75 overall prospect and the No. 9 cornerback in the 2019 recruiting class. However, 247Sports grades Stevenson much higher as he checks in as the No. 19 overall prospect and the No. 2 cornerback in the class.

ETA: Stevenson has 9 CB picks to UGA since his weekend visit there.
