Saban needs to bite the bullet, get on Twitter, join the 21 century and hype up and interact with recruits, parents, etc on social media. If you watch the young coaches like Kirby and Pruitt, they're blowing twitter up, posting hype comments every time thy get a commit, etc. Kids relate to that. Once you can't or won't do what's necessary to relate to them...
Saban also needs to get off his high-horse of no negative recruitment. He needs to tell recruits that Kirby is a racist, Satan-worshipper if that's what it takes. I guarantee you he's doing the same or worse to Saban. Saban is still recruiting like it's 1995. Gotta switch it up or get left behind.

Yep. I played baseball at D2 level and had 4 or 5 offers and my dad made me do the same thing.

Playing time means more that winning championships....you don't have to like it but that is the case. See Justin Fields for details. There is a certain type of recruit that Nick isn't going to be able to sign. He isn't going to kiss their azz regardless to their talent.

I really can appreciate that you are generally an optimist, but the problem is the trend, if 2 years can be considered that. Personally, I think the most likely reason we are faltering late, on the bluest of blue chips, is that opposing coaches, every one of them, is stressing that Saban may not be here their 4 or 5 years.
Last year, I attributed it to the fact the coaches may not have been the best closers, like Saban generally has, but these guys are supposed to be better, but the results are looking to be about the same.
I'm am also generally optimistic, at least moreso than pessimistic, and it's still a good class and hopefully next year we'll be back to what is normally the best in the nation with St. Nick. But it may not happen.

Same here - then I transferred to Alabama 2 weeks before my sophomore year and got the verbal tongue lashing of the century because he didn't sign a shortstop in the class before.
I was just kind of like "Yea, sorry?".

Did you see who is at the top of that list? Ben Davis. Bo was a decent coach and recruiter.

I think some of you need to stop obsessing over recruits the entire year. I just checked in today, see we have the #1 class in the nation and aren't likely to drop much. I know we missed a kid or two, but it's pretty difficult to melt, if you take this approach.
