So if the OC advises the qb to check down and he does not, then the OC can't bench the guy?

Thank you very much. Somebody else did watch all the games.

Yeah I agree with this. Just so happens the defense was giving Tua exactly what he wanted middle and deep.

When MSU decided to clog this and do the delayed blitz that is what stunted us. Then Auburn and Georgia just followed their recipe.

They give us the checkdowns because they know Tua wants to throw a TD every play. Tua knows he is 'that' good and they are using this against him.

Back to recruiting, some of you guys need to prepare yourself. Dean will be going to UGA. You guys kill yourself with this false hope. It was obvious for a very long time that Webb wasn't coming to Bama. Thibs made it obvious he wasn't coming to Bama. It's the same with Dean. Accept it and move on. Enjoy what we have and what we will be getting. There are those that are making it obvious they are coming to Bama. Have a great week.

Saban didn't bench Hurts after all his struggles, do you think he would let Locksley bench the best QB in Alabama history because he refuses to throw checkdowns?

Seriously, that isn't an intelligent retort. Like at all.

You made up some fake narrative about Locksley and are trying to shoehorn the reality in this falsehood to justify it.

The simple fact is that the OC determines who plays. If the quarterback doesn't do what the OC wants him to do, the OC can bench the guy. That's the point and has been the point the whole time, but some of you guys want to spin away from it.
So if the OC advises the qb to check down and he does not, then the OC can't bench the guy?

Wait ... I thought last year Daboll wanted Tua starting during the season. Wasn't that the narrative?

So if Daboll was the OC, and he wanted Tua playing, he should've had the power to make it happen. Right?

I would be willing to bet money both Locksley and Enos were in Tua's ear about taking checkdowns in the Georgia game. For whatever reason, Tua just didn't listen. And for whatever reason, it wasn't considered a big enough problem to pull him for a series or two.

The best QB in Alabama history doesn't refuse to thrown check downs but the best QB in Alabama history did start throwing more downfield when the Heisman attention heated up.

How has Dean made it obvious he isn't coming here?

You can literally see plays in the second half where they are obvious checks to the RB. Tua looks directly at him, decides not to throw to him, then looks up the field.

As soon as he looks, the blitz comes right through the middle to blow up the pocket and make him uncomfortable throwing.

Rinse and repeat.

It was obvious they tried to get him to do it but he just wasn't having it.

To blame Locksley for that is crazy. Especially considering Enos is his QB coach and Saban is the one who decides who plays.

Wait...I though last year that Saban declined to follow the advise of his OC because he has confidence in Jalen.

So do you think Saban all of a sudden this year had so little confidence in Jalen that he would not allow his OC to sit another qb that didn't follow the OC's advise to check down?

See, you guys are still trying to spin it away from the simple fact that the OC can bench the guy that isn't following his game plan.

My bad guys. I really don't think he would have gotten so melty if I wouldn't have responded to him and that triggered something. I didn't realize I was in a one sided feud with this guy until today. Sorry folks.

I have never seen such celebration over us missing a recruit. Ever.

247 Blue board was celebrating this as if Georgia actually won the championship.

They forget about Eboigbe, Alfano, Byron Young, etc...

They will be reminded though. Shortly.

Coach Bryant was able to recruit many great players but he didn't get everybody he wanted each cycle and neither will/has Coach Saban. What is important is to sign someone at that position that is dayum near the talent level on those that you missed on. The receiver from Hoover to the Barn is a good example of why in the hell would an elite receiver go to auburn at this time with the Gus sitaution? Kids do crazy things but regardless they get that option.
