LSU just to increase the odds that Yaw Yaw gets that sweet Gus style contract extension.

LINK ]Daxton Hill opens up on flip to Alabama

After taking his official visit to Tuscaloosa last June, 5-star safety Daxton Hill appeared as though he would be playing his college football at Alabama.
The Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington product, however, did not make a commitment in the summer as he had hinted at doing, instead opting to take an official visit to Michigan -- another top school -- in September that ultimately sealed the deal for the Wolverines.
Fast-forward to last weekend, Hill decided to flip to the Crimson Tide on Saturday night.
Hill's father, Derrick, provided BOL with a simple comment on the decision earlier this week: "Dax's decision was a personal one, and he wanted to be closer to home -- that's pretty much it in a nutshell," Derrick Hill said.
The nation's No. 1 safety sat down with the Tulsa World this week and went a little bit more in-depth on why the change of heart one week after the SEC Championship Game win over Georgia.
“(Alabama’s) just been one of the leaders in my whole recruiting process, so I wouldn’t say it was over a game that switched my mind — they were just always recruiting me hard.”

Another interesting nugget in Hill's sit-down with the Tulsa World is that he has not yet decided whether he will sign early or wait until February. After he flipped BOL was told he would wait until National Signing Day on Feb. 6. However, he has the chance to end the recruiting process next Wednesday if he so chooses.
Of course, the Tide is making an effort to get the majority of its pledges officially onboard next week. Michigan is still pushing to flip Hill back to the Wolverines' class. Signing early would eliminate Jim Harbaugh and staff's chances.
Hill, who's drawn comparisons to Minkah Fitzpatrick by Nick Saban himself, is rated the No. 1 safety in the country and the No. 8 overall player in the nation, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Here's what 247Sports has to say about Hill's ability:
"Slender, high cut, muscular athlete. Not a frame that is built for a lot of mass but possesses enough size. Incredibly twitched up, explosive athlete. Posted some of the best combine numbers in the 2019 class. Elite range as a free safety. Versatile enough to project as a pure corner on the college or NFL level. Physical enough as an eager tackler to play safety. Provides versatility to cover quicker slot receivers. Good ball skills. Size and bulk could limit his role as an in-the-box defender. Rare athleticism and position versatility allow Hill to project as an impact player at either safety, corner or nickel at a national power. First or second round NFL Draft pick."

I most always want the SEC to do well. Most always! With the bad taste CKS left in most Bama fans mouths, well maybe not be rooting for all SEC teams. Work in Atlanta & the great majority are UGA fans who mostly all hate Bama; for this reason - Hook’em Horns

Forgot. Who is UGA playing I don’t care about the game to such an extent I really don’t actually know

Nope.. I’m pulling for BAMA. We have Carried this flag and everyone else calls us cheats and complains..refs, billboards..move the office.. ect. I hope all of them lose. You didnthear us bitch about playing the SEC title game in Georgia vs UGA.. but you will hear the refs helped Bama win.. Go knights, long horns ect. As long as we win and carry the flag I’m good.

It is about 4 hours shorter to TTown. But I will say the one bonus of having aTm in the conference was the expanded SEC coverage into B12 country. Plus around 8 hours and less you have Arkansas, Ole Miss, MSU, LSU, and a&m as well. So 9 hours to TTown for 6 or 7 games a season with another 3 in the west less then 9 hours away. Not that bad for the family compared to UM which is over 13 hours plus they play in their eastern division that stretches to the Atlantic.

Good points . Hadn’t thought of Bama’s opponents as well
Really wish Hill would sign early.

Distance probably was a factor, but I think Dax Hill's father also preferred to give a simple reason rather than elaborate. From what I've seen it's more because Dax preferred Bama but was initially influenced by his parents to choose Michigan. Not too long after he committed, Dax reached out to Bama. Then Karl Scott did a great job of building upon their relationship. When December arrived and the staff could then visit recruits, Scott went to Tulsa to visit with Dax and his parents and made the flip happen. Kudos to Coach Scott.

I try not to make predictions about Bama because I'll jinx the hell out of things. I never even make score predictions or pick bowl games

My picks as to how we finish and with whom would probably not be well received here but hoping for the best. Great class regardless
