That is fair, but I'd argue that the backup plan Rb's are several steps up from Ely or Mcleod. Ely and Mcleod were plan D

I am not trying to sound like a dick, but that is a little bit weird. Unless, you happen to have had business there anyway.

But, on the other hand, as long as you're going you should make it worth it. Wear some Georgia gear or pretend to be a Georgia fan. Bring a buddy to be an FSU fan. Then, just continue to make veiled racist and outlandish remarks around some of our key recruits. Be as obnoxious as you possibly can and convince them that it represents the entire opposing fan base.

I don't downvote unless someone is being a douche like some of the previous UGA fans. Nothing wrong with expressing a different view or opinion. I think that Glass or the other RB is a fall back should K Robinson flip and/or Sanders goes elsewhere. Just my opinion, but the staff may see Sanders as the need and K Robinson as the luxury. Could also be that Saban wants 2 backs in each class.

Former Maryland coach D.J. Durkin, who has been off the radar since getting fired in October, has been helping Alabama behind the scenes this past week in a consultant-like capacity, per sources

Saban likes to have backup options.

Sopsher doesn't sign until NSD, better to start recruiting backup options in case LSU pulls off the flip.

I'd agree, DJ williams actually has some really good tape and now has offers from Clemson and Michigan, so his recruitment is about to heat way up.

Glass I think is a worthwhile take as I see him as a quality back no matter what, but it all depends on how the Sanders recruitment plays out.

I know the Saban School for Wayward Coaches has taken in some toxic interns in the past, but this may be a little too far for my comfort. It's not Art Briles bad, but this is a lot worse than hiring Freeze would have been.

I really don't like it, but also as a consultant he has no real control and as long as we don't hire him as an analyst/coach I won't be that upset. I'll be happy to see him go though.

Wasn't Lance Bone's only real source of info? It was either him or Steele. I just remember back in the day Bone actually got some solid info, but that hasn't been the case in years.

I don't know specific to Bone, but Kirby and Lance Thompson have always been the ones with big mouths I have heard in the past. Info doesn't flow like it used to when they were here.

I think Durkin is only on a short visit to pick his brain -- maybe Clemson prep work. I doubt he'd get hired onto the analyst staff.

Eta: Maybe he's helping Locksley with Maryland stuff to reduce time Locks has to devote to that.

Have to think it's for Clemson... just wish that it didn't happen until after ESD, it's so easily to negatively recruit with and we all knows KS loves to do that.

Negative recruiting is a good way to shoot yourself in the foot.

I mean, Bama has played Clemson more recently than Durkin has.

Offense is night and day different with Lawrence...

True, but what insight does Durkin bring on Oklahoma or ND?

Not that this is earth shattering... but I talked with a friend last night. He graduated from shades valley in the early 2000s and was good friends with a guy who eventually signed with Miss State. Anyways he is now SID at UGA. He told us that UGA was not at all confident in Sanders, Neal, or Dean. He did say that these kids go to IMG academy to be able to pick and choose their future school and that just because one signs with a certain school doesn’t mean anything. He also mentioned that UGA was stacked at RB and would be a little surprised if sanders chose them simply based on depth.

I'm still stumped at what I said to make you think I was being a tool.

Jesus. That is the epitome of "earth shattering."

I mean, I hope you were just interpreting what I said incorrectly. I wasn't making fun of you. I was actually saying the information you brought was HUGE news. If someone inside the UGA athletic department is saying they aren't confident on Sanders, Neal or Dean that is tremendously good for us.
