I'm happy with our class. I'd like to keep Quay and get one more stellar corner and then I'll be content

UGA boards say CBs rolling in for Campbell to them. ITS not really trending to us right now. Saban gonna have to do work to get another elite DB. Maybe it will make room for some in state guys like Langham, Ruggs and possibly Foster which is not bad in my book. Hate to lose Langham

There are a couple of under the radar DBs in Mobile too.
Maurice Robinson and Roger McCreary

Yea I am sure he would like to come to Bama but he is visiting UT and if he feels unwanted or numbers get tight I don’t think it would be far fetched for him to go elsewhere . But I guess you know differently . Good deal

This is my favorite internet spot/thread, but if we beat UGA on Monday then I am going to be really happy for a long long long long time (regardless of who else we add to an already pretty darn good class).
I've realized how spoiled I've gotten and how impossible it is to even play for a natty much less win one. If we win this Monday, I'm going to try and enjoy this one more than anyone in my life (short of 92 - which was my first (as a kid) and will always be my best).
I'm treating Monday as special. Life's too short.
If we lose Monday, then I'm going to see what all this west cost buzz about legal pot and prostitution is about.

I don't see the game having much an effect on recruiting this year unless we blow them out.

I read this thread too much. Last night I had a nightmare that Anoma somehow flipped to Georgia...

The recruiting story that exemplifies Kirby Smart's ruthless desire to beat Nick Saban
As the story goes, Kirby Smart didn't wait long to burn the bridge with Alabama.
When Smart left Alabama to become Georgia's head coach, those inside the Alabama program believe Smart took Crimson Tide recruiting evaluations and used them against his mentor Nick Saban. The belief is Smart told mutual recruits where they stood on Alabama's recruiting board, particularly if it could be construed as negative, and parsed negatives out of the program's evaluations to hurt Alabama's standing with recruits. Some believe it's the reason three-star receiver Tyler Simmons flipped to the Bulldogs late in the recruiting cycle though he's never publicly commented on that.
Simmons, however, told DawgNation that Smart said in Nov. 2015 -- before he was even offered the UGA job -- "if I get a head coaching job somewhere else, I'm coming for you."
For two years people around the program have grumbled about Smart's ruthless maneuver to try to gain an edge on his old employer. It's one example of many they'll tell you to explain why Saban and Smart aren't close though both are cordial publicly. It's a move that goes directly against what Jeremy Pruitt, following in a similar path as Smart, said in New Orleans about valuing coaching friendships over a single recruit.
In many ways, it could be the perfect illustration of how Smart is different than Saban's other disciples who tried and failed to knock off the king of college football. It's hard to imagine Jim McElwain or Derek Dooley exhibiting that level of killer instinct.
"I'm different than Nick in recruiting," Smart said when asked about the comparisons to his former boss. "But that's okay. I'm okay with who I am. I'm comfortable with that. I'm not trying to be him or emulate him."
Not surprisingly, those on the Georgia side of things say it didn't happen like that. UGA inside linebackers coach Glenn Schumann, who spent eight seasons at Alabama before joining Smart in Athens, was directly asked whether Smart took pictures of Alabama's recruiting board and used it against the Tide.
"I don't recall that being done at all," Schumann said. "Maybe in transitions, it's easy to say that if someone chooses to go elsewhere, the natural reaction is there was something negative. If Alabama gets a player that we recruited, you have to give credit to them how the recruitment was won in a positive manner.
"At the end of the day, everybody is going to recruit to the best of their ability, and you have to give credit to the other side when they do get a player, and you hope that it's respectfully done vice versa."
Nick Saban vs. Kirby Smart isn't personal? It never was
They were never mentor and protege on a personal level, but they're hard-wired the same way on how to win. It's why they're here.
Smart received fan criticism for poaching Jake Fromm, the Bulldogs' freshman starter, away from Alabama though Fromm's father made clear to 247Sports this week that Smart wasn't the quarterback's primary recruiter when he was committed to the Crimson Tide. Smart called Fromm within 24 hours of becoming Georgia's head coach and made him his first offer despite the five-star still being committed to Alabama. Smart told Emerson Fromm, Jake's dad, he wasn't "trying to take you from Nick" but made clear the Bulldogs wanted Jake.
There was the drawn out battle for defensive back Maurice Smith who eventually transferred to Georgia only after the SEC granted a waiver. That Smart was so willing to engage in a fight for Smith after Alabama initially denied Smith's request to transfer within the SEC didn't play well back in Tuscaloosa. Saban seemed still bothered by it when it came up again this spring during discussions about the league's graduate transfer rules.
Schumann remembers following Saban for an in-home visit with Mack Wilson, while he was doing double duty for Alabama and Georgia. Wilson ultimately signed with Alabama and has been a key contributor this season though Georgia made a hard late push to sign the five-star from Montgomery.
"Everybody understands it's the lifeblood of any college program," Schumann said. "It's what you have to do. You recruit, you do it to the best of your ability and see what happens at the end of the day."
Few seem to understand that better than Smart. His approach hasn't endeared him to former colleagues in Tuscaloosa, but it does have him playing for a national championship in only his second year in Athens.
If Smart can do Monday what no disciple has done previously -- actually beat Saban -- it'll serve as the crowning achievement of his cold-blooded pursuit to be the best.

Dude is saying Sarkisian is out as the Falcons OC next season and Daboll is probably heading back to New England if Josh McDaniels gets a head coaching gig.

Best move all around. Daboll isn't a bad coordinator, just best suited for the NFL since he's been out of the college game for so long. But, if Daboll does by some chance leave in the offseason, the next coordinator will have the same problems he had calling plays this year if the same quarterback starts next year.
