I don't think they land Anthony Cook. I think he's Ohio State bound.

Why wouldn't he want to go to the real DBU????

I have fun poking them about that every once in a while

Great, let's have to play against him next year. He needs to go to Kansas.

On Feb. 28, I wrote an All-Access about the state's top prospects trending away from Alabama.

I don't think much has changed. Coynis Miller, the four-star defensive lineman from Jackson-Olin, recently said Florida is his leader, ahead of Auburn and then Alabama. Florida has done a great job recruiting some top Alabama players, including Jeawon Taylor and La'mical Perine, but hasn't signed one that Alabama and Auburn were actively pursuing yet. Let's see if that changes with Miller.

Jalyn Armour-Davis did commit to Alabama since then after not having the Crimson Tide in his top six.

It's too early to tell with Justyn Ross, the state's top prospect. Alabama, Auburn and Clemson seem to be out in front and he and his family do love Clemson.

The biggest upcoming battle to watch is for Asa Martin, the top running back out of Austin. He'll choose between the two in-states, Florida and Clemson on Aug. 24, but this looks like an Alabama-Auburn battle. Both schools really want him.

Paul Bryant 4-star receiver Seth Williams doesn't give away many clues. Many think he'll leave Tuscaloosa and go to Auburn. The Tigers seem to be recruiting him harder, but anything is possible.

The most intriguing recruitments are probably a couple of guys who have had different leaders over the past few months. Andres Fox of Mobile Christian has a final four of Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Stanford. He'll pick one of those schools. Mountain Brook's Harold Joiner has gone from LSU leading, to LSU being out of it and LSU now tied atop his list with Michigan State, a school which he's never visited. Perhaps the school that doesn't get Asa Martin will up its pursuit of Joiner.

Gut feels on where these two four-star recruits end up has changed on numerous occasions and I don't think anyone really knows.

OLB/DE Adam Anderson said he is still looking at possible visits. At this time, Anderson says a pair of programs are standing out.

"Based on who I am talking to right now, it is between Georgia and Alabama," Anderson said.

He's going to Georgia.

6 months old and around 90lbs. Bad photo, I'll try to get a better one later. He eats 6 cups of dry food and 1 can of food a day.

Not everyone can be an "Ace" recruiter.

I prefer my line coaches to be better technicians than recruiters. Dunbar isn't bad, he's just not the recruiter Bo Davis or Chris Rumph was. He's arguably better coaching DL than both.

Same with OL, you put Pendry, Stoutland, and Key up against Crisotbal's recruiting and they fall well short. Coaching wise though, Cristobal might end up at the end of that list.

Rumph wasn't a very good recruiter. Bo was let go by Saban the first time because he wasn't doing well enough on the recruiting trail. On his second stint, he was a lot better.

In college, it's not good enough to be good at teaching or recruiting. You need to be excellent at both at this level. If Dunbar doesn't pick it up, Saban won't have him here long...you can count on that.

Rumph tapered off recruiting wise, though his initial hiring towards landing Clowney and failing kinda put him on weird footing to start.

Bo became a wellrounded DL coach in his sabbatical away from Bama, it does suck that he's not there anymore.

The punishment handed down to Bo also initially hurt Dunbar's start last year, as he wasn't allowed to recruit off campus or call recruits for a short period of time

Cristobal was so bad he was moved to TE's and Key was brought in. Our OL was soft under Cristobal and that had to change.

Rumph and Bo were both above average recruiters who helped us land multiple #1 classes and sign monsters like Jon Allen, Tomilson, Payne, Hand, etc. Dunbar has a lot to live up to, so far he isn't impressing on the recruiting trail. We'll see about the teaching part starting in a couple of weeks against FSU. But either way, dude has to learn to recruit at an elite level or he won't have a job here come next January.

That's right. Can't be good at one or the other. Must be good at teaching and recruiting at this level or you get replaced by someone who can.

I think Saban knew what he was getting into by hiring a former NFL coach who hadn't recruited in over 10 years(for Miles at LSU in 2005).

His pedigree as a coach speaks for itself. And even in the 2 years he's put in recruiting in the last 12, he has still landed 2 5*s and 4 4*s.

He's not even Coynis Miller's primary recruiter
