Four-star DE Malik Langham exploring all options as NSD approaches

quote:

Lee-Huntsville defensive end Malik Langham likes to keep things close to the vest.

The four-star 2018 defensive end said earlier this month that he planned to announce his college choice on National Signing Day (Wednesday), even though he expected to decide before then. Langham took official visits to Alabama, Florida and Vanderbilt in January and he'll go to Tennessee this weekend.

"Even after taking him on 12 visits and over 4,000 miles on the road ... I don't even know where he is going yet," Lee assistant Chase Crowson tweeted earlier this month.

Langham has displayed a humble attitude during the recruiting process and is complimentary of each of the schools pushing for his signature. He discussed his most recent visit, Florida, prior to being named Class 5A Lineman of the Year on Tuesday at the ASWA Mr. Football Awards Banquet in Montgomery. Langham developed relationships with new Gators head coach Dan Mullen and defensive coordinator Todd Grantham while the pair were at Mississippi State.

"The visit went really good. I liked the staff," Langham said. "It was my first time being down there. I saw everything I wanted to see and more."

Langham also got to meet new Florida defensive line coach Sal Sunseri, who spent the past three seasons as the linebackers coach for the Oakland Raiders.

"It was pretty cool," Langham said. "He was telling me about my technique and how he coached Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin. He knows what he's doing. I know he can take my game to another level.

Langham is rated the No. 14 strong-side defensive end in the nation by the 247Sports Composite. He recorded 104 tackles, including 14 for a loss, 11 sacks and 23 quarterback hurries last season.

Its been talked about those two playing together and there is certainly some smoke but that tends to happen every year with certain guys. I think if Campbell wanted to come here then we would know more. But thats my opinion. Ill be glad when this is over

Nobody seems to know for sure where Campbell is going. He's telling all 3 schools the same thing. Bama feels like they have a shot. Much more of a shot than anyone thinks. But confidence isn't HIGH. Just that we have a better shot than anyone thinks.

Quay Walker
how dumb is this kid? He would be in the 2 deep probably immediately, at lbu, probably playing for a NC next year, and yet he wants to go elsewhere because he has a man crush on position coaches.

It's possible Quay's tweet to Tyson means follow me back to Title Town. But it could also mean follow me back to UGA or UT, since they have both OVd there too.

Kids make decisions based on the heart and the relationships they have. You are right though, he'd be getting playing time for sure if he comes in and learns the playbook

This is like the better looking nerd has a better shot then the ugly nerd with the hottest cheerleader in the school. Still no chance in hell but.

And this was not directed at you 3714 just in general and why I find this all entertaining with the sites, those close to the program, and our so called insiders. At least remaster shoots it straight. Not sure how often he is right but he says yes or no.

Well, I COULD come on here and give definitive statements on who we're definitely going to be signing. That would be "shooting it straight". It would also be me lying to you. There is a LOT unknown about what 17-18 year olds are going to do. I know many like to make fun of the word "fluid", but they change their minds constantly. And CNS really does re-arrange the board constantly and re-evaluate and change his mind constantly. IT REALLY DOES HAPPEN. Why this seems to be as difficult to grasp as rocket science to some, I may never know.

And I know you weren't directing it specifically to me. My post may sound a little ornery. It's just some general observations.

Truth!! Having coached HS for 15 years, I can tell you that this is 100% true!!! You never know what in the hell is going on in the minds of these kids!! My livelihood depended on the minds of 15-18 year olds and it about drove me crazy!!!

Whether this is what it means or something else is a “fluid” situation right now. Lol

Just kidding guys. I appreciate the info and conversation ALL of you bring to this board . It’s a lot of work for Saint and others and enjoy 3714 and Boz info too. We gonna be fine with whatever we get on NSD. Thanks again!

Me too, but let's look a bit deeper here.

quote:

follow me back foo.

Very reminiscent of:

"Touch that thang foo."

Eta: It's fluid, but I think at the moment this means we land both.

Oh come on, 3714. You don't want to paint yourself into a corner by making a bunch of absolute statements about who "WILL" be signing with Bama the way LSU fans do about players every year?

They may very well land Surtain, but if they don't, I'm gonna hit 'em with a reminder of how arrogant they were about landing him.

247 dropped updated 2019 rankings

They dropped Bo Nix behind Taulia & Tyson so I am pretty salty right now

But some good bumps for state of AL kids overall. Bentley, Williams & Dale are now ranked. Tyson & Taulia moved up. Kight is in the top 100 as well now

This is what people need to understand. These for the most part are 17-19 yo KIDS. They change their mind like the wind blows and could be with you forever and then something shiny comes out and immediately switch gears. Thats why you dont ever worry as none of it matters until there is ink on paper. As long as CNS is running the program i don't worry what a KID is going to do. BAMA isnt for everyone.

We didnt want him anyway, bigger fish to fry, others ahead of him on our board, etc.
Obviously sarcasm as Bo is going to be a good QB for you guys.
