I've always wondered why kids play in these all-star games. It's not like any of these kids need to showcase themselves. They're offered by every major program in the country.
With the oncoming trend of college players skipping bowl games in order to spare themselves from injury, why are high schoolers risking major injury for a completely meaningless game?

Everybody always says that about dual threat QBs in the SEC (and major college football in general), but when is the last time you've seen it actually happen? There are actually very few injuries to QBs that make them miss actual games in college, and the ones that happen are usually knee/leg issues that have nothing to do with a hard hit.
Little nagging bumps and bruises may be another thing, but you rarely see many "kill shots" anymore. Yet, the "_____ QB had better not try running it like that in the SEC or he'll get killed" will persist for all eternity, I guess.

Did Tua play a lot in the first quarter? Because it seems like he's gotten the shaft with respect to playing time since I've been watching about halfway through the second quarter.
