Hopefully two future Bammers. Think Samuels is ours if Jimbo takes the LSU job, which seems very likely. Even if not, it sounds like our staff thinks we have a good shot.

Carter has an excellent first step. Doesn't look to have great pure speed, but that's not as important as quick burst.

5.8 in the 40 Nick Gentry proved that. Beer gut and all.

While big-time performances are surely still to come on Saturday, with both Najee Harris and Tua Tagovailoa set to play this afternoon, a pair of other Alabama commitments posted big performances on Friday night.

Chadarius Townsend, ATH, Tanner (Ala.) --

Despite the 48-42 loss to Lanett and accounting for four turnovers, Townsend managed to keep the Rattlers in the game throwing for 294 yards and four touchdowns. Tanner finishes the season 9-3.

Jerry Jeudy, WR, Deerfield Beach (Fla.) --

Jeudy battled with fellow five-star prospect and Florida State commit Stanford Samuels, but his notable performance didn't come on the offensive end. Up 3-0 in the fourth quarterback, defensive back Jeudy intercepted quarterback Samuels and returned it for a 41-yard touchdown. The Bucks held on to beat Flanagan 10-7.

Well, I'm glad we didn't have many visitors for that abomination tonight. Considering our overall talent level, it doesn't come any more sloppy than that. Hopefully we come out fired up for the big recruiting weekend next Saturday.

A guy on BOL who went to the game said Rome was just physically dominant at every position on the field other than Pierce.

He said it was brutal to watch.

Info on Browning:

quote:

Multiple sources have indicated over the last few days that it may very well be a two-team race between Ohio State and Alabama at this point, but no one is suggesting that the Buckeyes have lost any ground. UCLA, where he visited this weekend, also is still firmly in the mix, but the stability of the coaching situations in Tuscaloosa and Columbus is very appealing to Browning and his family. According to one source in Texas, that is why the Longhorns – who are likely to dismiss head coach Charlie Strong soon – are off the list. “That instability likely isn’t sitting well with someone of Browning’s athleticism and self-assuredness,” the source said. “Knowing he can go to bastions of winning and stability like ‘Bama or Ohio State. (It’s going to be) Ohio State or ‘Bama, that is what I’ve been told.” If Bama is the favorite right now, the Buckeyes will have a very good shot to regain the momentum before his expected Nov. 29 decision date. Browning and his family will visit Columbus for Ohio State’s huge game against Michigan on Saturday.

I am hoping for freezing rain. Snow can be fun, but freezing rain is nothing but bone chilling and miserable.
