After picking up a commitment from four-star tackle Jedrick Wills on Tuesday morning, Alabama now has the top-ranked recruiting class for the 2017, according to the 247Sports Composite. The Crimson Tide have moved ahead of Ohio State, which had previously held the top spot.
Alabama has 22 total commitments. Five of them are from five-star players, four from 11 are from four-star players, and five are from three-star players. The Crimson Tide have a commitment from the No. 1 overall player in the class, Antioch, California running back Najee Harris.
There's still a chance the Buckeyes could reclaim their spot, as they have five fewer commitments than Alabama and a higher average player rating. Alabama has had the No. 1 recruiting class in the country six years running.
All those No. 1 classes make Alabama's roster the most talented in the country, per the 247Sports Team Talent Composite. The Crimson Tide are also No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Alabama’s new commit Jedrick Wills is one of the best prospects at the point of attack in the country.
Regardless of the side of the ball.
Ranked by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite as the nation’s No. 10 offensive tackle, I could see Lexington (Ky.) Lafayette blue-chipper playing any of the three offensive line positions in Tuscaloosa and if they wanted him to, he could be a stout defensive tackle on the next level as well.
The violence and athleticism the 6-foot-5, 318-pound Wills plays with is pretty unique to his peers in the 2017 recruiting cycle.
“Very intense player,” Lafayette coach Eric Shaw said.
Wills verbal moves Alabama past Ohio State for the No. 1 ranked class in the 247Sports Recruiting Rankings. He chose the Crimson Tide over an offer list that included Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee, Florida, Florida State, Kentucky and LSU.
“He’s going to bring that attitude playing that position,” Shaw said of offensive line. “He plays the game fast, he plays the game hard. I think that’s the biggest piece he brings to the next level.”
Wills uses his hands well, plays with good leverage, has all the traits coveted.
There’s no better offensive line class in America than the group Nick Saban and company are bringing in as Wills joins five-star Alex Leatherwood, the nation’s top-ranked JUCO prospect in Elliot Baker and U.S. Army All-American Kendall Randolph among others.
Wills ranks as the nation's No. 42 prospect regardless of position as the Crimson Tide now have eight Top100 verbals coming from the high school level.

247 had an article on his visiting, but I cancelled my subscription to them, maybe someone else can shoot the cliffs

Hank says Isaiah Wilson is still a take even though the staff is pushing hard for Trey Smith.

Hank also thinks Baker sticks with us.

Obama: Joe, no, don't.
Joe: I sent it.

It is never a surprise when committed players continue to take their official visits. In fact, it has now become more of a surprise when a committed player shuts his recruitment down without taking any other trips. The Scout staff takes a look at what committed players from their region are still taking visits and if anyone has a realistic shot at flipping them.

Robert Beal, Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge- Georgia
Beal is committed to Georgia, but he has taken official visits to the Alabama Crimson Tide and Florida State Seminoles recently. He is set to visit Georgia officially in December, but he is still considering visits to the NC State Wolfpack, North Carolina Tar Heels and Texas Longhorns as well. It would take a lot for someone to pull him away from the in-state school. Georgia's chances to hang on here are very good.

Austin Deculus, Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair- LSU
It has been over a month since Les Miles was let go at LSU, and Deculus was one of the recruits who initially reacted with the plans to take a look at some other programs and we do expect him to make some visits down the recruiting home-stretch. Texas A&M, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Miami (Fl) and Michigan have reportedly stepped up hard since Miles was fired.

Fred Hansard, Princeton (N.J.) The Hun School- Florida
Hansard is the No. 17 defensive tackle in the nation, and his big senior season is making schools take notice. He is committed to the Gators, but already made unofficial visits to Penn State and Rutgers. The 6-foot-3, 306-pound Hansard is in the process of setting up an official visit to Florida, and he is expected to officially visit Penn State. The Alabama Crimson Tide, Pittsburgh Panthers and Tennessee Volunteers continue to speak with Hansard as well.
