Ryan Johnson is a very good FB player, but he's behind Labryan Ray on the board, and would only be allowed to commit if somehow, by a voodoo spell, Ray didn't come to Bama..........

Wilson and Solomon seem like longshots, but their is "something" with the way Leatherwood keeps throwing hints out there that things are going on behind the scenes. Thinking there may be 2-3 names pop on or right before NSD that we all stand up and just scream "F*CK YEA !!!!!"

Expect things to SERIOUSLY pick up with Wilson in the last month before NSD. There are specifics about it that I can't get into, but we have a pretty good shot now.

Got a lot of new info yesterday.

Guys I feel very good about right now (>75% about at this minute... *NOTE that we're in the silly season and things can change quickly):

1. Ray
2. Ruggs(may be higher on the board than Devonta)
3. Devonta Smith
4. Mathis
5. Trey Smith
6. Daniel Wright
7. DeAngelo Gibbs
8. Kinlaw
9. Jarez Parks

Still have no clue about the numbers or how they'd work out, except for those I mention below maybe not being in the class.

I feel a good bit better about Najee after hearing some stuff last night.

I am hearing a few guys are on hold (maybe some that would surprise you). Wade (behind Samuels, Gibbs, and Wright on the DB board) and Conliffe being two of them.

Isaiah Wilson to UM.

If we land the DBs we want, Dean might be out.

If we land Trey Smith, might see Baker out.

Keep a close eye on the development of Kedrick James once he gets to campus. The feeling is that he'll prove to be one of the top 5 players in this class once he's had a year or two to develop. EXTREMELY underrated, big time talent.

I now think Townsend will be in the class, more likely than not. But, like that article linked in here yesterday mentioned, probably on offense, as a slot WR/kick returner. He's electric with the ball in his hands.

Look for us to likely add a grad transfer DL this Spring.

I've heard nothing insightful on Solomon or Chris Allen. Think Moultry is behind Allen in the pecking order.

I do not think we have a legit shot at Samuels and I could see Gibbs over Wade.

I am still curious about Harris and think Stevens would be a take if wanted in this class. Staff has spent a lot of time on him, at least prior to committing to LSU.

Gibbs absolutely disappeared against IMG this season whereas Wade dominated.

I am not high on Gibbs at all.

I find this really hard to believe regarding Wade. He's way better than Gibbs and Wright is a Safety. Wade is a Corner.

I don't really like Conliffe so I don't mind him not being able to commit, even though Hank said last week that he could.

Maybe. Hank South said today he is sticking with his CB to Alabama for him.

I'd be okay with that if Marlon does indeed come back next season. We'd be returning all of the starters in the secondary (minus Eddie who is already out) so we wouldn't need a JUCO to play right away.

I just don't see him picking anyone other than Tennessee unless something happens to his sister's job under Butch.

Hank doesn't project Solomon in this class and changed his CB from Alabama to Foggy last night.

If LSU decides to hire Jimbo over Orgeron I think Allen is ours. He may even be ours if they keep Orgeron.

Everything changes on Samuels if Jimbo goes to L6U.

I've heard nothing new on Stevens in a few weeks.

Not sure about Gibbs' game against IMG, but he's looked great when we've scouted him and supposedly had a huge senior year. He has had the tendency to slack off in his play (effort) at times in the past. We've had a long line of guys that had that reputation (Mack Wilson being the latest) that came into our program and grew up quickly. I just wish Robert Foster could be among that number.

Hank thinks Auburn still leads for Ryan Johnson even though he will probably attend the Iron Bowl next week.

Tadarrian Moultry moved ahead of LaBryan Ray as the #1 prospect in the state.

Probably best not to get into too much on the Trey Smith recruitment on a public message board, but regardless of the situation with his sister being up there, we feel pretty good about our chances right now.

You could always post more sensitive info on the site which should not be named here. Most of the guys who have around awhile know the place, info is safe there as it is just us. It would be nice to see Magilla's place busy again.

No one has posted there in months for whatever reason. Even T Rich quit posting updates.

HONOLULU — Two quarterbacks living under the same roof more than 4,000 miles away from Bryant-Denny Stadium could be the future of Alabama Crimson Tide football.

Tua Tagovailoa, the 5-star quarterback commit from Saint Louis High School (Honolulu) is locked in with his commitment to Alabama, and his brother, Taulia, a 2019 quarterback from Kapolei High School, already is thinking about suiting up for the Tide, too.

Taulia wanted to commit to Alabama when he received an offer from the Tide in July, but his parents told him that he was too young to make a big decision like that. But that hasn’t stopped Taulia from thinking about Alabama nonstop. When asked if he still wanted to play for the Tide, Taulia responded immediately.

“Oh heck yeah,” Taulia told SEC Country. “When Tua went up there, he didn’t want to come back home. He came back and was telling me all of these crazy things like how he got to meet Coach Saban. I have only seen that guy in movies it seems like and for me to see him taking pictures with mom, dad and Tua, it was just crazy.”

Taulia and Tua go to different high schools in Honolulu to allow the younger brother to start at one of the top football programs on the island. Taulia led Kapolei to the state semifinals game this season as he amassed 3,932 yards, 42 touchdowns and only nine interceptions.

The sophomore quarterback is on pace to shatter the Hawaiian state passing record for career total yards. He’s seventh in Hawaii history with 6,703 yards. Tua should break Timmy Chang’s record of 8,001 yards in the state championship game against Kahuku this Saturday. Tua only needs 87 passing yards to pass Chang.

The brothers haven’t played on the same football team since Taulia’s seventh-grade year when they were on the same park league team together, the Ewa Beach Hammerheads. Taulia, who was Tua’s center for the Hammerheads, thinks about reuniting with his brother in college — this time, as a quarterback.

“It would be a dream come true,” Taulia said. “I think I’d spend my brother’s last year at Alabama if he was to go to the draft, and we’d play on the same team. I could learn a lot from him. I think I’d have that advantage to step in and come after him.”

Taulia hasn’t been to Tuscaloosa yet. When the family went to Alabama this summer, Taulia stayed back in Hawaii for football practice. The one thing that Taulia is most upset about when it comes to not making that trip is what he’s wanted to do since he started watching college football.

“I didn’t think they would get a chance to meet Nick Saban on the trip,” Taulia said. “I’ve always wanted to meet Nick Saban.”

He admits that it’s going to be tough for other college coaches to top Alabama when it comes time to make his decision, which will likely be done his senior year. The thought of continuing on whatever legacy Tua leaves at Alabama already is intriguing for him, but the success the Crimson Tide have had over the years is what’s drawing him in the most.

“Alabama is just full of winners, and I want to be a winner, especially being coached by Nick Saban,” Taulia said.

Now that his regular season is over, James Clemens defensive end LaBryan Ray is focused on five official visits.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Ray is a four-star recruit is ranked as the No. 45 prospect nationally in the 247Sports composite and as the No. 3 defensive end.

Ray was the preseason No. 1 player in the AL.com A-List and maintained that spot after the regular season.

Going into last week's 14-7 season-ending loss at Hoover, Ray had 99 tackles, including 19 for loss with 11 sacks, 13 quarterback hurries, four pass deflections and a blocked punt that he recovered for a touchdown.

Against Hoover, he had nine solo tackles, two assists, five tackles for a loss and two quarterback hurries.

Ray will also play in the Jan. 7 Under Armour All-American Game in Orlando.

Ray recently took an unofficial visit to Florida. He was scheduled for an official earlier this season, but the hurricane that postponed the Florida-LSU game also meant he wouldn't be taking a trip then to Gainesville.

Ray plans to visit Tennessee the weekend of Jan. 13-15, and Mississippi State the following weekend. He said Alabama, Florida and Ole Miss will also get officials.

The Alabama official could come the weekend of the Iron Bowl, but that's not set in stone.

Auburn was in Ray's top six, but when asked if the Tigers were still in the mix, he said, "I don't think so."

Now, Ray has a top five. And he doesn't have a decision date set and doesn't have any leaders.

The long-awaited commitment by elite offensive tackle Jedrick Wills to Alabama finally came on Tuesday.

Near the end of the summer, Wills tweeted for everyone to be on alert. But the four-star recruit from Lexington, Ky., ranked No. 41 overall, chose the Crimson Tide in a Bleacher Report video over Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee and Notre Dame.

He had already taken an official visit to Michigan and his coach at Lafayette High, Eric Shaw, said he believes Wills' official to Alabama will be for the Iron Bowl.

"I think he just wanted to take his time," Shaw said. "He wanted to chew on it a little bit. He decided to do it today and I'm very excited for him and his family. I'm excited for my program for an athlete to go to, right now, the big dog of college football. I call them my sons and I'm excited for my sons when they get a chance to play college football."

How it happened: Alabama assistant Derrick Ansley developed a relationship with Wills when Ansley coached at Kentucky. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Wills visited Alabama this summer and that's when momentum started trending until his Tuesday announcement.

What Alabama is getting: Wills has led Lafayette to the third round of the playoffs. He plays 80 percent of the game's total snaps, Shaw said, even on the defensive line.

"They're getting a very aggressive, hard-nosed, smart, agile big player," Shaw said. "His size is impressive but how he moves with his feet is unbelievable and is a sight to see."

Alabama is also getting the state of Kentucky's top prospect for the second time in three years. Running back Damien Harris signed with Alabama in 2015.

What it means: Alabama has five offensive linemen committed and four are listed as tackles. The tackles are Pensacola, Fla., five-star Alex Leatherwood, Madison-Bob Jones four-star Kendall Randolph, No. 2 overall junior college recruit Elliot Baker and Wills. Cullman's Hunter Brannon has committed to play center.

"I'm sure he could play any position he wants to on the O-line, but he wants to be a tackle and my impression is that's what he's being recruited as," Shaw said. "Playing guard, I haven't heard that, so I'm assuming it's going to be as a tackle."

Baker recently announced he's taking an official visit to Texas A&M this weekend. Leatherwood has also made other visits but it would be a shock if he didn't sign with Alabama.

Alabama is also in on more elite tackles in five-stars Trey Smith of Jackson, Tenn., Foster Sarell of Graham, Wash., and Isaiah Wilson of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Smith officially visited Alabama last weekend. Wilson says he's officially visiting for the Iron Bowl and Sarell is a possible Iron Bowl visitor.

Alabama won't sign all three, but it seems like there could be movement on the line.
