I hope Brian Robinson gets his offer pulled just because of that haircut

Supposedly both are leaning to us right now, but that WTF commitment from the Cullman kid yesterday may have thrown a wrench into our OL spots.

It's kinda a weird thing since the "old" OL coach is still there, but the new guy usually gets his guys too after evaluating what he inherited.
Key's preferences on interior linemen may differ from Cristobal's, the latter's did from Stoutland's.

Well I'm sure you've watched their film, so who do you think projects more as a Guard out of Leatherwood and Isaiah Wilson?
I know we all like to think Leatherwood is going to be a beast outside, but more than one analyst has said he may be better on the inside.
I think Wilson may be too heavy to play outside right now at 355 pounds.

Isaiah Wilson, the nation’s No. 1 offensive tackle, spent three days at Alabama and left impressed.
The 5-star prospect, according to Rivals’ rankings. from Brooklyn, N.Y. noted that there are obvious differences with being from New York City, but he is starting to enjoy being in Tuscaloosa.
“I haven’t fallen in love yet, but I do generally like the South and Alabama is a great place to be because the players share a brotherhood and the coaches are very inviting,” Wilson told SEC Country. “If you’re from New York, you can probably go anywhere and thrive.”
Being a part of a brotherhood is important to Wilson. That’s where Alabama could have a leg up in his recruitment as he considers 5-star offensive tackle commit Alex Leatherwood “a brother.” Leatherwood wasn’t there for any part of Wilson’s stay in Tuscaloosa, though the two communicate nearly every single day.
The 6-foot-7, 350-pound prospect didn’t go as far as saying the multi-day visit puts Alabama in the driver’s seat for his commitment, but he did say that the Crimson Tide showed him how life would be for him if he ended up committing there.
“I like Alabama and being there for a couple of days allowed me to see what the players there go through and how the days work,” Wilson said. “It’s nothing like high school. They wake up and grind then go to class then workout again and the days is theirs afterwards.”
He didn’t have a favorite part of the trip, but he spent a considerable amount of time with offensive line coach Mario Cristobal. Wilson considers Cristobal one of the best offensive line coaches in the country.
“He’s proven it time and time again,” Wilson said. “His track record speaks for itself.”
Wilson said Alabama will get an official visit. Those dates will be released soon. He’s also considering Georgia, LSU, Michigan and Southern California at this time, although more schools are likely to get in the mix, he said.
As the interview was winding down, Wilson shared one last piece of info that shows just where he stands with the Crimson Tide.
“How can you not love Alabama?” Wilson rhetorically asked.
Wilson doesn’t have a set date for when he’s going to announce his commitment. He has previously talked about committing at the Under Armour All-American game in January.

We need pass rushers. Bad. I know we have Timmy and the gang for this year, but I really want to see some of these young guys reach their potential rushing the QB.
I don't really see us involved with any pass rushers this cycle either. I mean, yeah, people are saying Chris Allen fits the Timmy mold, but he plays Inside for his team so he's gonna have to learn the position before he can contribute.
I was really hoping we'd get Chase Young. Maybe Jarez Parks will fill that role?
Absolutely ! TS, I watched Allens reel this morning, and no way he plays anything other than ILB. He is a force in the middle with the ability to take on OL, and get off blocks effortlessly. He is so freaking powerful he literally looks like a bully on the gridiron.
Parks on the other hand is a no brainer at OLB. He is built for it, and like Allen he just jumps off the screen when watching his highlight reel.
A combination of Davis, Mack, Allen, and Parks ?

Don't think the kid from Cullman signs come February, unless Bama misses on every other OL on the board.

I think Terrell Hall is gonna be our Tim Williams of the later future. He and Trevon Diggs are two guys that Im gonna really keep my eye on.

It's in this thread or last year's, but my first impression of Leatherwood was interior lineman(I said Center). His Junior film made me a believer of him outside though, I think he's got the quickness for it.
Wilson could potentially play RT for a team like Bama, but I don't see him being a blindside protector.

They will both be OTs. IF those two aren't OTs, who are? We have 78 OGs on the roster. If we're signing two top 5 OTs, it's to let them play OT.
Posted on 7/24/16 at 9:26 pm to MagillaGuerilla
The plan is to have Leatherwood play RT until Jonah Williams leaves, and then have AL play LT. He's considered an elite, franchise LT by our staff. Wilson would be a RT. He's a Fluker clone, and would likely drop some weight (although his frame is massive... he'd look skinny - like Fluker - at anything under 330).
Posted on 7/24/16 at 9:27 pm to Bama3714
I wish every kid who chooses Bama nothing but the best but with the way things are going with past few years OL recruiting I have to imagine we are going to have some very good interior lineman transfer because they are falling down the depth chart despite being a big 5 confererence starter level talent.
Posted on 7/24/16 at 9:27 pm to Bama3714
Well if they aren't quick enough to play on the outside I certainly don't want them out there. I think Wilson could definitely play outside but he needs to drop about 30 pounds.
Posted on 7/24/16 at 9:54 pm to TideSaint
I know what you mean. I think that's the plan for Wilson if we can get him. AL is as natural an OT as they come. Heck, some people (on other boards mainly) even think Jonah Williams should be moved inside. Who in the world do people think CAN play OT if Jonah Williams can't? Heck, he'll probably run a 4.9 40 in the NFL combine in 3 years.

I agree that we need an elite pass rusher in this class (Beal was Pruitt's #1 target). But, complaining about our pass rushers going into next year is kind of a "Bama problems" kind of deal. With Christian Miller, Jennings, Terrell Hall, and even Mekhi Brown (who has done more to develop his body than anybody in the past year) coming down the pike, it's sort of a really REALLY spoiled fan thing to complain about. And I'm as bad as any of us. I admit it.
