Quote from Wyatt Davis' father:

quote:

Q: There was a long time where you thought he was going to go to Alabama. Mario Cristobal offered Wyatt first.

Davis: “It was interesting because that was his first offer. We went to Alabama more than any other school. We went up there twice. Even after our last visit talking with coach Saban Wyatt was all-in at Alabama. Unfortunately there was a coaching change at Alabama and coach Cristobal was only going to be coaching the tackles and tight ends. They brought in a guy for centers and guard and Wyatt was going to be a guard. Unfortunately he was never able to make a connection with the new guy.”

It sucks we lost out on him due to staff transition but this stuff happens every year.

I was out on Jack West the moment he said he wanted to grow up to be like Trump. Seems like a frick boy. Have fun in Cali Jack.

Salty we lost Wyatt Davis. Would've loved to have had him. I think he's going to be damn good

Sucks, but hiring Key still looks to be a better move long term.

Cristobal will be a HC in the next 2 years, and Key is a highly respected OL coach. Technical sense, it's an improvement. He's just not the recruiter Mario is...

He's supposed to be a pretty good recruiter. We'll see in time. He's better than Bobbeh was anyway. And that's essentially who he's replacing.

Sounds like Christian Bell is transferring. Best of luck to him. Maybe he can get some PT at a smaller school.

I would be out on any kid who said they wanted to be like Trump or Hillary. I can't believe in the best country in the world with three hundred million people these are the finalist. It's like if we were trying to elect Bama's greatest figure ever and Cade foster & Travis Carroll somehow became the finalist we had to choose from.

I don't care about republican or democrat, but holy shite - this is our choice.

I would vote for just about everyone on the Alabama board before voting for either one (e.g., TideSaint would at least keep me up to date on what's happening; Sandkhan would make me laugh; MagillaGuerilla would remind me of how much I love cartoon gorillas (overdue for an avi change MG); Bucc would get me better cell reception and tell me the national debt will be corrected this season; 3714 would let me know what the secret service really eats for breakfast; CapstoneGrad06 would get drunk while helping me move, but shite would get done; Rizzy would go all Dirty Harry on the terrorist; Tide or Die87 would make Bull from Night Court his Secretary of Defense; bamasgot13 would tell inspirational stories about our national character and serve us warm milk with fresh baked chocolate cookies from an OT ten he stole from a wallstreet douche whilst the guy was checking his twitter followers at a stoplight; remaster916 would remind me that great ain't perfect; Trey would get driven into Canada and just say "frick it, ain't coming back"; BlackPawnMartyr would literally dick with L5U fans during the nation address; jatebe would get the deets to those who operate on gut feelings or assumptions; chattabama would unite the police and African American community (probably with some equally appealing flavored donuts (he's a fricking genius); sarc would actually make homemade fritters for the cause (he would be like "the secret ingredient is coriander" and we would be like "thanks for not being one of those assholes who refused to tell what the secret ingredient is); narddogg81 would bring back the real strawberry cheesecake to Burger King (none of this swirl bullshite); Cobrasize would somehow make healthcare affordable (but this may result in some old people being processed); etc. . . . .

Good luck to Jack wherever he ends up. Seems like a kid that has a lot of ambition (which I can admire) and has done things the right way. Wish him nothing but the best. But shoot for Reagan or FDR, not Trump or Hillary.

Akial Byers will visit Tuscaloosa this weekend and could possibly commit to Bama this weekend also. I just realized ESPN has Byers ranked 66th.

Hank South hosted a Recruiting Chat yesterday (I wasn't invited ) and here are the paraphrased answers to the submitted questions:

On our potential DL class - He has put in CBs for Marvin Wilson, Akial Byers, LaBryan Ray and Ryan Johnson to Alabama. Says it's 50/50 Auburn-Alabama for Johnson. A few sources have told him Aaron Sterling will not be in this class.

Asked about a potential flip for Tua:

He thinks Tua sticks with his commitment. Says the time he spent with our other commitments during the Opening should help keep him in the fold. Loves his leadership abilities.
