My stance on Gary has not changed. #Auburn-#Michigan till the end. #UGA #OSU #Bama heavily involved as well.

Went on record saying Quinnen Williams' body change/rise can be similar to Anfernee Jennings' in the 2015 class.

FSU a Threat to Alabama?
Chad Simmons
National Recruiting Analyst
PENSACOLA, Fla. - Alabama offered and got soon-to-be 2017 Scout 300 offensive tackle Alex Leatherwood committed early in June, but that was before hometown school Florida State offered. Now that he has an offer from the Seminoles, should the Tide be worried? Get the latest...
After camping in Tuscaloosa (Ala.), Alex Leatherwood was offered a scholarship by Alabama. Just as fast as the offer came, the offer was accepted. Leatherwood committed that day to Nick Saban.
Alabama was one of Leatherwood's favorites growing up, but the other was Florida State.
Not long after committing to Alabama, the 6-foot-5, 295 pound junior offensive tackle out of Pensacola (Fla.) Washington camped in Tallahassee (Fla.) where he was offered by the in-state Seminoles.
Oh yeah, FSU was his other childhood favorite.
The battle is on, right? Yes.
ALEX LEATHERWOOD
Booker T. Washington HS / 6'5" / 295 lbs

Analysis: Leatherwood passes the immediate eye test. Has great size with good balance in upper and lower body. Very strong and uses that power when he gets his hands on defenders. Really moves guys around and likes to put them on the ground. Better run blocker at this time. Can get to the second level. More of a right tackle type on the next level. Solid feet, but can improve pass sets. Solid in and out of his stance.
Can Alabama hang on to one of the top prospects in the Sunshine State? FSU is only two and a half hours from home. I have to throw in there that Leatherwood's head coach is former Seminole star, Charlie Ward as well.

He told himself if Alabama offered, he would commit.
-Alabama likes that he has a short memory in terms of losing reps.
-FSU offered. Grew up an FSU fan.
- Currently 6'5 295.
Says he is 85-90% committed. FSU is the biggest threat.

Who? Yeah I'll wait for someone I've actually heard of until I take it seriously. This report that auburn was getting a 5 day visit has turned into a bunch of wanna be analysts thinking there is smoke around it so to get hits and to sound like an insider they put in picks. When in reality he will be visiting Georgia and Alabama during that stretch as well.
247 needs to make crystal ball picks more exclusive. They let anyone make a pick.

How many times has Gary visited us? I saw John Garcia say something about this being his first visit, but I am not sure on that. If this was his first visit, then I don't get where any of the confidence of us landing him is coming from.

I also found this in Jimmy's article:

Shavar Manuel, DL, 6-3, 290, IMG Academy, Florida
It may be a hair premature to put Manuel on this list, but the Tigers wooed him and his high school teammate and LSU commitment Saivion Smith this weekend, and appear to be more than just a legitimate contender for Manuel's services. Manuel is being heavily courted by Alabama, FSU and others, but the Tigers knocked it out of the park this weekend, according to sources. Getting a public pledge from a player of Manuel’s five-star status would cause a stir, and will be quite the task, but keeping him committed could prove to be even more difficult, as is the case with most top rated Florida prospects.

Willie Allen, OL, 6-6, 280, John Curtis
LSU will be choosy in who they take on the offensive line this year, but Allen was one of its first initial targets. Some folks on the Alabama side have said that the Crimson Tide may have backed off of its pursuit of the highly regarded Allen, but Ole Miss has consistently threatened the Tigers for his services, too.

Devin White, ATH, 6-0, 260, North Webster
The early indications were that LSU was the most likely suitor that would land White, but that sentiment began when he was heading into his sophomore season. Fast forward a couple of years and other schools have proven to be tough foes for the Tigers. However, things appear to be shifting back in LSU’s corner for the two-way athlete, with Ole Miss and Alabama still lurking. As it stands now, expect Devin White to be in this LSU class.

He was a toss up. Numbers are going to play a factor here, too. I think LSU is very much in the mix for Lawrence, even though I feel like Bama is a very serious threat, but I have enough reservations regarding the situation to leave him off for now.
The defensive needs are substantial in every position group. As guys drop off, like Trey L being dismissed, or possibly a kid appearing to be NFL bound early, it may ultimately determine where they go with the last spots available. Joyner, Lawrence and Mullen were the three that could have very easily been on the list. In fact, I had Joyner ahead of McCulloch quite a few times. This is what I went with for now, but I doubt the list will be the same in 2 weeks let alone 7 months.
