From our friends at the LSUrb

quote:

Derrius Guice@DhaSickest
Texas Tulane LSU Alabama my top

I like this quote from a poster there:

quote:

Guice is a different breed. He's too real, no way he let's down his family and neighborhood. Those other kids were flawed, Landon, Gwill, speedy all have major character issues. Guice is a real one

I love how Landon Collins has character issues because he chose Bama.

Per AU rivals, they feel they are in good shape with Ledbetter.

Typed this up on the SEC Rb...how I perceive staffs top needs for this class

On D:

A good ILB missed on a few last yr (Kwon to tOSU and longtime commit Zach Whitley to UCLA ) I am hoping for at least Leo Lewis and 1 or 2 more inside guys

Bama needs to stock up on safeties. Got Hootie (who will be in the rotation as a TF) as an EE so that helps, need to get 2 or 3 more in this class, already have 1 committed.

I'm also gonna add a dominant DT only because this class is so freakin deep at that position SOO DEEEEEEP. Guys like Trentan Thompson (likely headed to UGA), Daron Payne, and Tim Settle just to name a few. Bama has offered a lot of true DT types so staff is looking to take advantage.

On O:

A threat at slot WR, Bama has one La WR committed who might fit that bill, but a long way before NSD and LSU will make it tough for Bama to keep him, they want him bad.

Definitely TE, needed to take a few last class and only ended up with one SEC retread/JuCo kid with 2 years to play. Bama staff has already offered quite a few in the early process so I wouldn't be surprised if Bama takes 2 or 3 in this class.

As good as Bama's OL group was in last year's class it was a bit light on outside OT's Cristobal can develop, other than EE Cameron Robinson and JuCo Dominick Jackson. A few of the others played OT but will likely stay inside. Bama staff would like to take a few more OT's in this class.

I think another early trend we are seeing to kind of tip off LK's O plans is the offers to all types of RBs/FBs and FB is definitely a position of serious need this class and LK seems to want to add at least one and implement a few more I formation plays into the O scheme IMO so I think Bama will take at least 1 or 2 larger backs who could play FB in this class

I think Safety is our only real position of need for this class, even though missing out on Leo Lewis would really suck.

I guess TE could become a bigger need depending on how Kiffin utilizes the position in our offense.

There have been two crystal ball predictions for Christian Bell to Miss St. Hmm...

quote:

"The trip was great," said Bell. "Every time I go it gets better and better. I talked to the coaches a lot more this time. I talked to Coach Cristobal, Coach Thompson, Coach Saban and Coach Smart. They were just saying they want me to come back down for a practice and get my family down there. They want to meet my parents."

"I really like the way I am catching a good vibe with the coaches," Bell said. "It's not only about football. They teach you about being a man. It's the same thing my coach talks about. It's not all about football. You have to be a man. It's life lessons."

That's why I put what I did

LK had to look at TE and FB and be pissed he wants to run some I and even used Lendale as the blocking back and Bush in slot or out wide in some shotgun, lots of different use of RB/FB in every formation that is likely why Bama has offered so damn many

Daron Payne is one of the most physically imposing players in the 2015 class. The Alabama native is 6'2" and 316 pounds, plus he has outstanding strength.

Payne would need to be coached up on his technique and hand-placement to be ready to play college football this fall, but his physical tools would help him. With his size, power, quickness and ability to quickly locate the ball, he could contribute.

It would be a shock if the 5-star prospect signed with a school not named Auburn or Alabama.

Trent Thompson is a 6'4", 292-pound defensive tackle who can do serious damage in the trenches. He has excellent quickness at the snap to penetrate gaps, and he also shows a good short-area surge to finish plays.

Thompson, who is from Georgia, is a physical presence who doesn't back down from anyone. He has the strength to stack blocks and anchor at the point of attack, plus the 5-star recruit wraps ball-carriers tightly when he tackles.

Thompson is going to be ready to play right away in 2015. Georgia, Florida State, Alabama, Clemson and Auburn are among his top schools, per 247Sports.

From Arizona, Christian Kirk is a 5-star receiver with a terrific skill set. He's the best offensive playmaker in the 2015 class due to his speed, quickness and deceptive strength.

At 5'10" and 195 pounds, Kirk has exceptional release quickness to launch into his routes off the line. He can get even with cornerbacks playing off him in a hurry, plus he has the speed to keep them in trail position as he sprints downfield.

Kirk has solid hands, but it's what he does after the catch that makes him special. He has natural vision, elusiveness and instincts as a runner, plus he shows terrific lateral agility and a fantastic burst in the open field.

Schools such as USC, Ohio State, Alabama and Oregon are in on him, says 247Sports.

Hailing from Virginia, 5-star defensive tackle Tim Settle is the total package. The 6'3.5", 305-pounder has the size, strength and quickness to warrant immediate playing time on a college roster.

Settle doesn't waste much time getting his hands on blockers, and he doesn't lose sight of the football easily. He generates a ton of shock at the point of attack with his punch, and anchoring isn't an issue for him.

Settle is capable of making plays, but he can also occupy offensive linemen to keep linebackers free for a college defense today.

Ohio State, Virginia and Alabama are his top schools, according to 247Sports.

After signing a class for the record books in 2014, Alabama is not letting up. Head coach Nick Saban has seven commitments, with six being 4-star prospects.

The lone recruit who is not a 4-star prospect is 5-star defensive end Mekhi Brown. It's early, but the Crimson Tide's class is loaded once again.

I wasn't trying to be a dick, but sometimes they make it difficult not to come off as one when replying to their statements.

I just don't get the whole hostility towards a kid committed somewhere else and the absolute need to remind everyone whether or not they have an offer.

Seems juvenile to me.
