4. Ronald Jones II
Size
6'0", 185 lbs.
School
McKinney North High School (McKinney, Texas)
Junior Season Highlights
Ronald Jones II enjoyed a breakout junior campaign that featured 2,400 rushing yards. He scored 39 touchdowns during a run to the state playoffs.
Scouting Report
Jones possesses an enviable blend of straight-line speed and superb agility. He has legitimate breakaway speed and forces the secondary to remain honest.
His upper body control is outstanding and Jones is a very compact ball-carrier in traffic. He is a tenacious runner who thrives in a quick-hitting offensive attack.
Jones is a viable candidate to line up in the slot when coaches aim to create athletic mismatches.
Recruitment Status
Jones' recruitment gained substantial momentum in February, when offers poured in from Michigan, Miami, Alabama, Louisville and Texas A&M. Early favorites include Oklahoma and Baylor.

2. Desherrius Flowers
Size
6'1", 212 lbs.
School
Vigor High School (Mobile, Ala.)
Junior Season Highlights
The Wolves struggled at times but Desherrius Flowers produced at a high level. His scintillating season featured a 250-yard, four-touchdown game against Faith Academy.
Scouting Report
Flowers is a violent runner who takes the time for one cut and fires off his front foot with aggression. His legs remain active in a crowd and he's tough to contain even when defenders have a fistful of his jersey.
He doesn't waste steps and keeps his progress moving forward. Flowers reaches the second level with mounting acceleration and catches defensive backs off guard.
His style of rushing should translate extremely well near the goal line in college.
Recruitment Status
Flowers pledged to Alabama as a sophomore, joining a lengthy list of freaskishly athletic Crimson Tide running backs.

1. Damien Harris
Size
5'11", 205 lbs.
School
Madison Southern High School (Berea, Ky.)
Junior Season Highlights
Damien Harris erupted for 2,600 rushing yards during a 10-win season at Madison Southern. He scored 42 touchdowns in 12 games.
Scouting Report
Harris shrugs off tacklers near the line of scrimmage, gains separation and swiftly picks up speed. He has borderline elite quickness and will improve in the acceleration department with further physical development at the next level.
His vision and patience put him in position to create opportunities even when a blocking scheme breaks down in front of him. Harris reads his linemen well and searches for seams to exploit in the defense.
The power he displays deep into the fourth quarter provides a strong indication that he can carry the offensive rushing load immediately in college.
Recruitment Status
He decommitted from Michigan in January but the Wolverines remain a strong contender for his signature. Florida State, Alabama and Arkansas offered Harris in February, creating an even deeper list of options that already included Ohio State, Auburn and Kentucky.

Predicted Winner: Blake Sims
Did y'all recruit another Blake Sims? Because the one I saw was basically a running back with the passing skills of, well, a running back. Saban might value experience, but I seriously doubt Kiffin would meekly agree to be hobbled like that.

I will eat my size 14 cowboy boots on camera if Blake Sims is the starter in the fall.

I was actually originally going to go with J.J., but didn't want to get bogged down in that particular discussion.

Alabama's battle to replace quarterback AJ McCarron will be one of the SEC's top offseason storylines. After all, McCarron's eventual successor will have to fill the shoes of a man who won two BCS National Championships as a starter, one SEC championship at the helm and finished second in the 2013 Heisman Trophy voting.
No pressure.
But while head coach Nick Saban's quest to find McCarron's successor will be analyzed ad nauseam over the next six months, the real battle won't take place until Jacob Coker gets there. The rising redshirt junior and former backup at Florida State to Jameis Winston is finishing up his degree and transferring to Alabama this summer, essentially ensuring that no decision on the quarterback race will be made before he has a chance to practice during fall camp.
So in spring practice, it'll be up to senior Blake Sims, sophomore Alec Morris, redshirt freshman Parker McLeod, redshirt freshman Cooper Bateman and true freshman David Cornwell to jockey for position before Coker sets foot on campus.
The man with the biggest spotlight on him should be Bateman.
The former 4-star prospect in the class of 2013 came to Tuscaloosa last January as the No. 5 pro-style prospect in the nation. With a big arm, great field vision and pinpoint accuracy, he's essentially a clone of McCarron.
He has all the attributes to be a star in Alabama's offense, but just what will Alabama's offense look like?
New offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin was brought in to spice things up a bit. While Bateman might have been a fit for the old scheme, he may not be the best fit depending on how creative Saban lets Kiffin get with the offense.
This is Bateman's window.
Coker wouldn't be coming in unless the coaching staff legitimately felt he had a chance to legitimately win the job, and if he nails it down, he could own it for two seasons.
Would Bateman really want to sit around two more seasons as a backup knowing that hot-shot, pro-style quarterback Cornwell—the No. 3 pro-style prospect in the class of 2014—is in essentially the same boat?
There's no easy way to answer that, but considering Cornwell could redshirt this year and create a year of separation between himself and Bateman without putting his job in jeopardy down the line, it's unlikely that there will be too much separation between the two if neither beats out Coker or any of the other competitors this offseason.
Does he really want to go through the same old song and dance again?
The spring quarterback battle at Alabama is the opening act for the big show, which will be when Coker joins the battle in fall camp. Without Coker and with Cornwell still learning the ropes and coming off of a knee injury, Bateman needs to be the No. 1 guy on the current depth chart exiting spring.
If he's not, he might not get another chance.

BR ranked the Top 25 3-star prospects of the past 5 years:

13. Vinnie Sunseri, LB/S (Alabama-2011)
Alabama has won a ton of games over the years thanks to having a dominant defense. Among the underrated players on the unit has been Vinnie Sunseri, a 3-star linebacker prospect in 2011.
The son of a coach, Sunseri always was in the right spot at the right time during his time with the Crimson Tide. He finished with 105 tackles and four interceptions in his career.
Now, Sunseri is preparing to crack an NFL roster.
