I was just thinking about Minkah's comment on how alabama has 20 dbs. That is such bullshite. The roster number for dbs on 247, 21 dbs, includes 3 guys who are leaving this year (Perry, Williams, Landon), one who likely won't be a db (Ronnie Clark), and six walk-ons. We have four dbs committed (including Minkah), and FSU has four DBs committed. The numbers are almost exactly the same at both schools.

FSU gonna FSU.

I've got a feeling that Richmond still visits based off the story Bone gave. We might not find out until Sunday or Monday if he does though.

I am sure they did but they would have done the same with UT as well. If he does not visit UA and still goes to UT we are definitely out and look for him to flip to UT.

Here's hoping today is a frick of a lot better than yesterday.

ETA: My day was actually pretty awesome yesterday seeing it was my anniversary. The wife and I had a great time together. Recruiting wise it sucked big hairy nuts.

Reuben keeps knocking himself out, so he won't ever see meaningful playing time until he fixes his tackling, and as far as Robert Foster, it's been rumored that he came down here with a bad attitude and wanted to do things his way. I think that it's kinda unfair to use these two guys as an example.

Why not mention all of the freshman that have played the last 2 years.

It's just fodder for the negative recruiting that's being used against Alabama. Guys like the Foster boys, Humphrey, etc are high profile guys.

We follow the team closely, so we can speak about attitudes, off-field responsibilities, or not knowing the playbook as reasons why guys are on the bench. However, that could call into question the staff's willingness to develop the young talent on campus.

Again, this is not my belief, but it's surely being used by the competition. Slow-playing guys is also having an effect here. But at the end of the day, we will have a top 3 class filled with blue chippers. #BAMAPROBLEMS

I miss the Shula days. Being excited about top 15 classes was fun. Until Saban, Andre Smith was the only five star we had gotten in damn near 10 years.

I'm not worried. We always seem to finish strong. Happy anniversary to you and your wife.

So do we take Cager now? Are we even excited about that?

Getting CeCe would be awesome, but maybe putting this class together early will come back to bite us in the arse. We'll all be so use to thinking some guys will be in this class, then they won't be.

Hope so too...seems like this year, there's been even more drama than usual...looks like signing day will be bit more unpredictable for us this year, at least compared to the past few years...

That sucks. He is a smaller guy, though I'd rather have seen him stay at Arky.

It's exactly like it has been the last few years. Mostly wrapped up with some interchangeable parts at the very end.

We currently have 23 committed so 4 spots left. To be honest if one belongs to Charlot I could care less where Hill goes. My preference instead of another WR would be a TE(Wheatley). I hoped we had a chance for H Hill this weekend since Custis and McGraw are gone, but he is no longer visiting and announcing today with friend K Boyd. Seems both will end at Texas. Leaving a spot for CeCe and looking onto to next year for future OTs. The only OT I see joining us at this point is Prince which seems to be a long shot.

I hope we finish with:

CeCe
Wheatley or Cager(Just like his size as a target)
Charlot
Prince

And hold onto to we currently have committed.

If we miss on any save the spots for next year instead of just taking someone who may later get processed to fill a spot.

Every year around this time many fans - including Bama fans - fall into one of two categories:

1) We're getting more than we expect and "i'm hearing" it could be surprise recruit X (this is your Bucc and The System category).

2) We're missing our targets, losing some, and settling for backup plans.

Usually for Bama, though, it is way closer to category one than category two. I say we all follow advice from one of the great philosophers of our time and

If we have open spots after wednesday in this recruiting class, things did no end well.

Yep. Every single year we have a stretch where we lose a couple commits and get bad news on a couple targets and people start speculating that the class is falling apart. And every year we bounce right back and close strong. It's almost as if the staff knows exactly what they're doing.

Getting CeCe would ease the pain of losing Rico and prince, but I just dont like how we are closing right now. Hopefully Saban works his magic and closes with a bang with CeCe, Charlot, Prince and some other sud.
