Per Shane Youngblood at BOL, Kerry Stephenson (Bama's Director of Player Development) visited with Prince Tega Wanogho, Jr. today, and Kirby Smart is expected to visit him next week in order to invite him up to Tuscaloosa to meet with Saban.

I don't expect it, but a commitment from him would rival Reuben and Evans. Even if they get Cowart, the melt would be fun.

What's the story on him? I had never read his name until a few days ago.

Montrell Custis is official visiting UK this weekend, and Bama and possibly UF in the oncoming weeks.
Says he's pretty solid to Bama, but UK has told him he can play early there.

If Coach Kerry is promoted to an on field position, it will be huge for our Gulf Coast recruiting.

Plenty of college coaches are smiling after watching their commits play in the All-Star events in Orlando, San Antonio and Los Angeles over the last couple of weeks. There are five staffs in particular, however, that are even more excited than the rest because many of their pledges had outstanding showings at the Under Armour, Army and Semper Fi games. Here is a look at the commits from five schools that fared best.

2. Alabama
Alabama had plenty of commits perform extraordinarily well during the All-Star games, but the Crimson Tide didn't land the top nod because some other players struggled.
Five-star running back Damien Harris did everything to prove he's the No. 1 running back in the country, especially in the Under Armour game where he had a game-high 110 yards and a beautiful touchdown run.
Top-rated wide receiver Calvin Ridley had a strong week, as did five-star defensive tackle Daron Payne, four-star cornerback Kendall Sheffield and others. Four-star offensive guard Richie Petitbon started the Under Armour week slowly, but he got better throughout the practices and looked good in the game.
At Army, four-star defensive end Mekhi Brown and four-star defensive back Rico McGraw had strong moments and made the list of top performers for the week. Alabama also had three-star defensive end Anfernee Jennings at the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl and he had an impressive showing.
Others struggled. Five-star quarterback Blake Barnett seemingly never got in rhythm and five-star cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick was beat a few times during the Under Armour game.

Five-star OT Drew Richmond will not visit #Alabama this weekend bc of a death in family. He is not sure if he will reschedule. @TideSports

Why would Cece and Cowart go to AU? They landed supposedly one of the best DL hauls ever 3 years back, and none have them have developed. Adams and Fairly have both been weak. Lawson is the only one with an injury excuse.
It looks like the Muschamp and Thompson hires are paying dividends

Yes, he is the old Vigor coach. Very respected in the Mobile-Baldwin county area. As far as experience in collegiate ball, I think he has some with a HBCU school, but I might be wrong.

It's not about the school man. It's the coach.

Coach Kerry Stephenson is one of the best recruiters on staff and highly respected in the Birmingham area as well, if anyone can put a bug in Prince's ear it's him, never forget T.J. Yeldons recruitment.
