Goldman either. WTH? I thought we only hired high school coaches to staff positions if they had a 5* in tow

Unless we are trying to get inroads with the DC area, since we've been whiffing on guys from there.

Kiffin out west
This guy up in DC/NY/PA
Steele/Thompson in the panhandle/Carolina's
Bo Davis in TX
Burns in LA
Crystal-Ball in South FL
Saban is omnipresent

Who else?

From Bama bio:

quote:

As a player at LSU, Davis earned second team All-SEC honors as a senior nose guard in 1992 as he recorded 66 tackles with four for loss. He lettered for the Tigers from 1990-92 and finished his college career with 90 tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery.

A native of Magee, Miss., Davis graduated from LSU in 1993 and then served as a graduate assistant with the LSU strength and conditioning program from 1995-97.

Prediction time:

What will this class be more like?

2012: Satisfied, good class. Met a lot of needs. Had some star power.
Or
2014: Are you kidding me? How did we land ______? Insert blank with Hand, Brown, Evans, etc. Fapfapfapfap

I'll make my predictions tomorrow. 2015 will be the deepest class we've had, but it will be lacking on 5-star talent IMO.

I think the rankings will drastically change so much and there will be so many decommits and stuff that we won't know the quality if players we are getting "star power" wise until roughly mid season October or November

Something I just noticed but if you recall LSU fans saying they didn't take sims because of Quinn and dupre, well that's horse shite. They signed 2 3 star WRs...

Quotes regarding big movers in the Rivals 250:

quote:

OG Dallas Warmack, Atlanta Mays (from NR to No. 198)
"There's no better way to make a case for your fourth star than going head-to-head with the nation's No. 1 overall player and holding your own. That's exactly what Warmack did against Trenton Thompson at the Georgia Rising Seniors all-star event. He's not the biggest guy in the world, but his technique as an interior lineman is very refined for a player his age." - Wommack

quote:

RB Bradrick Shaw, Hoover, Ala., (up 51 to No. 128)
"Shaw has everything you want in a back in terms of size, speed and athleticism. For a while it looked as if he might be more of an all-purpose type guy, but he continues to get bigger, stronger and faster." - Wommack

quote:

OG Lester Cotton, Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Tuscaloosa Central (up 109 to No. 112)
"Cotton has great size and quick feet for a big man and he showed us at the Under Armour Combine that he has a nasty streak as well. He's a pure road grader at this stage with natural leverage and a very powerful lower body. He will be a monster guard at the next level. He just has to watch his weight and make sure he doesn't add bad pounds." - Mike Farrell, Rivals.com National Recruiting Director

Nick Saban can go anywhere to get his guy. Saban does not shy away from a fight and he will go head-to-head with anyone, anytime, anywhere. Rashaan Evans, an Auburn legacy living in Auburn, is one bright shining example, but so are Da'Shawn Hand, Cameron Robinson, and Tony Brown. All of those guys are five-star prospects and all seemed to be headed elsewhere for much of their recruitment. Alabama also signed Josh Frazier, the No. 1 player in Arkansas, Christian Miller, the No. 1 player in South Carolina, and the No. 2 players in Iowa and Oklahoma. He did not win every battle, but he won more than his share.
