Yeah, unfortunately there are idiots in every fan base. From ours that tweeted at Cade Foster to ND's tweeting at Barnett.

CNS has also said that all the coaches coach special teams with one just getting the title of "coordinator"

There has been some talk of the NCAA allowing there to be another on the field coach. I'd love it if we could get a kicking specialist. With all of our woes at kicking it would be money well spent.

Jc Shurburtt was on JOX yesterday am and was singing Blake's praises from elite 11. Said Blake can run but that he is more of effective runner from the pocket when needed (made comparison to Aaron Murray, which I thought was an odd choice- but makes sense) not a "running qb".
In terms of comparing his arm to those of our two latest QB signees - said he's got more arm than Bateman. Said Cornwell and Barnett have comparable arm strength. But Barnett is a better overall athlete than both of them.

I think we need to address how we evaluate kickers and punters. Shelly and Mandel both developed and performed well as walk-ons whereas our scholarship kickers have struggled (Williams, Foster, Griffith (in early returns)). To me, this indicates we have the ability to coach and develop the position but have a poor record of evaluating

Sarc, you were asking earlier what numbers would be off today. I am going with 40 times. Apparently Malik Jefferson just ran a 4.39

Apparently Minkah ran a 4.51 which is pretty good.
He got 10th in the prelims so he'll be in the finals tonight:
6'1, 194
4.51 40
35.7 vert
3.81 shuttle

Another tidbit from JC Shurburtt interview on JOX
quote:
One more quick piece of info: Del Greco asked JC who was most disappointing and he QUICKLY said Ricky Town. Went on to state that He does not believe Town SB rated #1 because he is consistently outperformed by other prospects (Barnett included). JC went on to reiterate anytime he is asked about disappointments, Ricky town always comes to mind. He said a #1 prospect should always be at or near the top performers at every event and Town hasn't done that.

From Luke Stampini: Bama commit Shawn Burgess-Becker struggling in the DB drills. He has missed all spring and summer with an injury.
