Rumor among UVA folks is that Settle (or at least somebody close to him) is looking for money and not being very sneaky about it.

I hope we stop recruiting him. He is very talented, but I don't want Bama to get involved in that shite. I know we aren't completely innocent, but shite if it's starting to become common knowledge among the coaches anyone ending up with Settle is getting a time bomb.

That's the key part. You can't have kids/parents/handlers going around asking staffs for money.
It reminds me of David Sharpe last year. Every major school went running for the hills at around the same time. UF eventually took him after the smoke cleared but you can bet they made sure everything was on the up and up from their end.

Settle is an elite talent. His list of suitors is shrinking for some reason.

I agree. I hate quarterback recruiting this year. In general, I hate quarterback recruiting as a Bama fan

Eason is the prize. All the PAC-12 schools are grabbing elite dudes in this class. He probably won't stay out West.

Eason's father played at Notre Dame and they grabbed Baldwin in this class. UCLA got Rosen, USC got Town and Arizona State got White.

2015 QB recruiting was doomed from the start, as most of the recruiting process is done Junior year. You take the OC and all those relationships and move him up North, it throws a wrench in things.
That's why they Kiffin has made the rounds with just as many '16 guys, setting up for the payoff.
Barring a mass exodus, I doubt any QB they take in the '15 class will ever start. I see it more for numbers/depth sake. Depending on Morris, could be 3 scholarship guys heading into '15.

Dormady could still get on board but I'd rather get Eason. Perhaps we don't repeat 2012 and take a kid that keeps a 5-star player from joining the class a la Vonn Bell.

CNS has a policy of taking a QB every class so we're going to take one even if it's just a body. I don't agree with it, but that's the way it is.
