It didn't make much sense at the time either. Hell, our long snapper signee caught more flak than McLeod and he'll probably be an All-Pro in the NFL when it's all said and done.

Right?

On Wednesday the nation's top dual-threat quarterback, 5-Star Kyler Murray, comes off the board. Murray is expected to decide between Oregon and Texas A&M.

Most years that would deplete the position nationally, let alone in one region.

Next in line are a pair of 4-Star quarterbacks from California. The nation's No. 4 dual-threat quarterback, according to the 247Sports Composite, Travis Waller has seen his stock soar with the string of commitments at his position. Ohio State and Oregon have both flirted with offers, however Oregon has waited on Kyler Murray and the Buckeyes decided to offer Joe Burrow Tuesday morning who committed.

If the Ducks miss out on Kyler Murray an offer to Waller could come soon. The Ducks have also targeted Spring-riser Sam Darnold from San Clemente (Calif.). Darnold has added offers from Tennessee, Northwestern and Duke among others in May. The three-star was also invited to the Elite-11 following his Oakland performance.

Tomorrow afternoon is going to be huge in regards to our QB recruiting for this class. If Murray picks A&M, I think Waller gets an offer from Oregon and he picks them.

If that happens I think Dormady has to be guy we target. At least I hope so.

Y'all want a good laugh? My Ohio State friend just sent me a text saying this regarding QBs in this class:

quote:

Well a buddy of mine that's a big FSU fan said today, it's a down year for QBs. 4 star kids from last year would be 5 stars this year.

It's a shame he got injured last year. He probably would have got that 5th star back.

Ugh. I had my physical fitness test today. I scored an excellent but I'm allergic to something in the air up here. My sinuses are fricked right now. My eyes are blood shot and my ears are killing me.

When I run indoors I don't have a problem as well as when I run around my neighborhood outside. But the second I run outside on base my head goes haywire.

fricking Idaho and it's high desert.

Nick Saban dismissed talk today at the SEC spring meetings that Florida State transfer Jacob Coker is Alabama's starting quarterback just yet.

''Everybody is way ahead of me on that one,'' Saban said, according to the Associated Press. ''I've never seen the guy throw the ball since he was in high school.''

Added Saban: "'In fairness to the players that we have, who worked hard in the spring and had a good offseason, Blake Sims, and all the other quarterbacks who have made improvement, Cooper Bateman, they all deserve to have an opportunity to compete. And we'll continue to compete and we'll have a competition that will evolve over the summer and in fall camp and we'll make a decision about who we think will give us the best opportunity to win."

Poor Parker McLeod. He asked for a transfer one day too soon.

Yeah. It's going to be a fierce competition. Does he really expect us to believe that?

Would it be an across the board early signing period or just for early enrollees?

Alabama commit Montrell Custis is the latest invite to The Opening, an invite-only camp that is held at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon every June. The 6-foot, 175-pounder is the 8th Tide commit to be invited to the event, joining Lester Cotton, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Jonathan Ledbetter, Richie Petitbon, Calvin Ridley, Deionte Thompson, and Dallas Warmack. Custis was invited as a result of his showing at the Atlanta NFTC back in March.

The Lovejoy (Ga.) prospect was previously committed to Kentucky, but flipped to the Tide following an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa in April.

From the SECrb on Tim Settle. Rumor, obviously. But what else do we have to discuss?
