I won't be rooting against Milroe by any means, but anybody drafting him should probably be fired. There is no player in Alabama history that I feel more confident will not succeed in the NFL.

OK, devil's advocate question ... say he does succeed. Again just for discussion purposes.

Will that put him even more on the respective caca lists of some in our fan base because he didn't do it for us and in fact because he didn't do it for us it actually cost us dearly? (I hope that makes sense )

Trepasso has sort of doubled down in his latest offering although he's dropped Jalen to third overall in the draft, going to the Giants.

Still don't see it ...

I think it would be a small reach to use a 3rd round pick on him, much less the 3rd overall, but I can see the logic behind the Giants specifically doing it. Daboll and Schoen somehow managed to keep their jobs, and they might think they can buy themselves more time by reaching for whoever they have as QB3 in this draft and convincing ownership that they need time to develop him.

It would really be inexplicable. How does a guy play for 2 great coaches and yet fail so many times? How does he regress over time?

I think if he succeeds in the NFL it will be an indictment of the multiple staffs that made him look like crap so many times.

I don't know. BoB, Rees and now DeBoer could do nothing to make this guy look like an actual QB for a complete 60 minute game over three seasons. To say that all three failed Jalen instead of Jalen failing them wouldn't be good reasoning in hindsight.

If he succeeds in the NFL, and my definition of success for him would be a multi year starter and nothing else, it would be because he lands in a perfect situation with an OC or HC that can finally figure out how to limit his dumbass mistakes. If he cut the bone head turnovers in half during his college career, we'd probably be looking back on it at least a little differently.

If he threw fewer INTs in his career, particularly in 2024, we also wouldn’t have those ugly visions of his half-hearted attempts to “tackle” the guys running for TDs afterwards.

But for me the cherry on top was the dive he took against Michigan in the playoff instead of trying to muscle his way for a first down. Pathetic.

The heart began to leave the program around 2017, and really took a nosedive after 2020. No tough teams since.

They'll have much more available time to work with him in the NFL than his college coaches did. Coaching time is much more limited by the NCAA now than it used to be, to the detriment of "project" players.

This could explain some things. Peep the hand size.

Would it kill them to use some punctuation? Gah

But yeah, smaller than Burrow's baby hands. Still bigger than Pickett's though!

NFL Midthrow would average 4/12 on completions with all of the completions being interceptions.

Those linebackers and Ends are a lot faster in the NFL so his rushing ability going to take a big hit as well (especially since he doesn't get his yards from extending plays, its only designed runs).

I don't even want him on My favorite XFL team, whatever round he is taken, 1-7, he will be the worst player picked in that round. I wouldn't even take him as a practice squad running back, doesn't even know how to protect the ball when he runs.

Jalen interviewed at Senior bowl. He opens up with Bill O'Brian being a great coach after trying to throw Bill under the bus last year.

I was a sunshine pumper up until the South Carolina game last year. Backtracking like this is making it worse for him

Yea after last year’s Rose Bowl interviews I wouldn’t have expected to hear that from him much less open his press conference with the “great coach O’Brien.

With regards to hand size Milroe's hands would be the smallest for an NFL starting QB by a large margin. No one is under 9" for their hand size.

This would be a very Giants thing to do. I love Jalen Milroe as a kid but if he gets picked at number 3, he will take Ryan Leaf's place as the biggest bust in NFL history at QB.

Dang, that last pass was really late and you can see the frustration in his body language.
