Not so easy to recruit, when you are going against "Strong arse Offers".

Most of you young guys probably don't know this, but back in the 50s Alabama hired a guy out of the Midwest (Notre Dame grad) named Johnny Dee. He came to Tuscaloosa in '53 and immediately recruited kids from Ohio, Chicago and Louisville, Ky. He signed 5 guys that season and they were the nucleus of the '56 team known as The Rocket-8. Their Senior year Alabama went 21-3 overall and 14-0 in the SEC, and were the 1st team to ever score 100 points on a Kentucky team (101-77).
I'm not saying Alabama's gonna do that with Oats, but imo, he's the type of coach that could come in, recruit well outside of the Southeast, and put a helluva team together in a couple of years...We'll see.

Hadnt seen this thread. Impossible to say yet. If we get Primo that will be a great sign that he will be able to recruit well enough to be elite. Add him to Quinerly that would be two players he has already signed in his first year here who were ranked top 30 in their respective classes. That would have me excited.

Alabama trending for 5 star hoops target

This is starting to sound promising. All predictions have him coming to Tuscaloosa. Would be a huge get.

As we've been saying, kids are gonna love coming to play this style of game, and with some success, the sky's the limit!

Would like to get a dominating presence down in the paint... especially after seeing Baylor dominate the offensive rebounding last night. Be nice to have a big man to go to when the 3s aren't falling.

Me too. Don’t mind the 4 out concept but like an athletic strong big man like Baylor has down low

I’d be surprised if Bediako didn’t see some situational time next year, especially against more traditional bigs. I’m very happy we got him and think he and Tchikou could be a dominating front court before the end of their time in Crimson.

Tchikou already had a year with the SC coaches and added 20(?) pounds or so, so I don’t think it will be an issue to pack a few on Bediako as well.

Oh yea . Very glad we got him . Guess my comment was really meant to stress that I wish we had one that was mature physically and experienced already on the team. Oats is doing a fantastic job of building this squad the way he wants it

We currently have the #3 recruiting class in the country, ahead of...

Duke
Kentucky
Villanova
Kansas
Baylor

And way the hell ahead of Gonzaga and Carolina.

Yeah, looks like the guy can recruit.
