C'mon man.....Jalen was the starter and had one loss last year.....Tua wasn't going to roll into the job Day 1 until Saban and Daboll could get him in and start working with him. Obviously, this kid is a special talent and Saban played that card when we were stalled out in 1H.

Jalen won a lot of games for us this year and got us to the game so lets remember that....

I just have a hard time determining the point Tua should have been given the nod to start without the benefit of hindsight. Hurts probably had his best career game, and largely won the game, at MSU - when we needed him because our defense was very very injured. I guess the second half of the Auburn game is the easy answer, but Hurts had brought us back before and its a tough call to make IMO.

Also, its a reasonable assumption that Tua has progressed over the season indicating that the mental mistakes we saw last night are a lot fewer than at the beginning of the season - he likely improved a lot over the bowl practice too. Without knowing for sure how he has looked in practice over the course of time and how he would react to the in-game situation, its hard to know at which point in the season we should have given him the nod over Hurts.

In the end Saban does what he does and made the right call at the right time for Bama to win it all again. QB competition coming up in the spring and I'm excited to see what Tua does - hopefully continues to improve on those mental mistakes - and the future certainly looks good for Bama.

Maybe so, but Tua is also no longer a true freshman and they have another off-season to drill into him to take fewer risks and take better care of the ball. They will also have time to teach him to handle end of game scenarios better (like leaving your kicker enough time to attempt a kick)

You fricking moron. You utter fricking imbecile
You and bamainva should pack your bags and leave this board for good. You're an embarrassment

Tua is the best QB to ever wear crimson, and what he did last night was one of the most epic things ever done by any college QB in history, and you're bashing him!? frick right off

So Saban wasn't cussing him out with 6 seconds left and Hurts didn't come back in for that last snap? Damn, I must have watched a different game.

No, not really. Just answering the question that is the title of this thread. If the OP didn't want serious replies then he should have said so.

Hurst is a best kneeler on the team. He out kneels Tua everytime. Is that your point?

I mean, Tua has an insane arm and played a great second half but he is still a freshman who can and will improve.

My point is that the coaches knew that Hurts knew what to do in that situation. If we didn't call the timeout, Tua may not have left any time to take the kick or could have gotten delay of game(can't remember how much time was on the play clock). They called the timeout with 6 seconds left. After the timeout, They sent the vet out there that had no doubt about what needed to happen.

Letting the clock get to 6 seconds was a freshman mistake and an end of the game situational error.

Whaaaat i couldnt be enjoying it more.

The way a couple guys acted the last few weeks has been ridculous. Its perfectly fine to disagree with someone but to call people idiots racist etc is wrong. I don't do disrespect.

I wouldn't have said a word but even after being made to look like a fool......they come back and do the same.Zero humility.

We're a family here and will disagree at times. Were passionate and love our tide.Normal people can disagree and still be a family and treat each other with respect.Guys like them shouldn't be around other people and have probably been beat up multiple times.

Never would have even been in that situation had Tua not gotten a chance to play

I believe the reason Hurts went in is because Tua is not as used to taking a snap from under center.

Never said that, nor is it what this thread is about.

I have never said Tua shouldn't have come in.

First of all , we all have the right to an opinion and anyone calling others an embarrassment for that is pathetic, what is this communism? The kid came thru and showed he can get it done. I just hope when he fricks up and makes mistakes at times that he ll get the same treatment jalen was given. Btw aj is the best Bama QB ever so let's pump the brakes on Heisman and all the other bs and enjoy these players and team.

The Tua thing - I still understand the staff's risk/reward analysis......though there was a point in the Auburn game where I'm guessing they wish they could do it over. However, the rest of the season I get.

As for Najee - why Bo kept getting carries instead of him or D. Harris I will never know, but I still felt like our running backs were pretty dang good all year. Najee for Bo as the alternate would have made sense, but D. Harris getting 15 carries a game would have made as much sense. My bigger problem was Bo getting so many carries, not necessarily Najee.

I agree on the name calling and disrespect...No call for any of it. We tend to eat our own instead of being happy for the team and that's not right .
