Eh, he was gonna get paid wherever he went. I’m told from this board that osu was his second on signing day so at least that’s consistent. I just can’t see Downs coming to Alabama for t rob or anyone else but Saban.
So osu was the natural progression for him

It's almost like all these transfers were about those dollar bills and nothing else.

I've actually gone from feeling like the DeBoer hire was really risky to thinking he is going to win big.

I was worried about the fallout due to the players not knowing who he was, and we've seen that play out, but this guy has now shown he has some massive coconuts.

Bringing in HIS QB, that he thinks is the best guy to run his system and letting the No.1 QB in the country walk- I actually came away really impressed by that.

Austin Mack is the kinda QB you win titles with. He can see the field both figuratively and literally at 6'6"+ and 235 pounds. He gets through his progressions quick and has a good release. His pocket awareness and footwork are already better than what we have in TTown, and the kid may not be 18 years old yet.

Also everyone needs to remember when the portal opens in the spring TTown is going to be destination No.1 as we get the word out about lack of depth and playing opportunities at the best program in America.

I'm as excited as I can be. However, until next fall Bama football will be taking a backseat to Braves Baseball because I LOVE BASEBALL. I'm a watch every game level fan... 162, and hopefully plenty more in October.

That is the biggest turd in the huge pile of shite that is this 30 day portal garbage. Our guys can go to other SEC schools and play this fall. We will not be able to replace them with SEC players who can play this fall.

That was my point you fricking thick headed dip shite.

DeBoer has been watching Mack at practice for a year. Mack had already worked his way up their depth chart in one year, and knows their system. DeBoer had an interview at the end of the season saying that Mack was going to do huge things at UW. DeBoer got his guy, and I'm glad he did.

Anyone that would rather have a High School kid over a 6'6" 235 pound QB with a year of development in the system that we are going to be running is crazy. I'm extremely excited we got Mack. I'm sure the other kid will do great, but I think this is a huge trade for Bama.

Georgia definitely wanted Downs, but instead lost its second recruiting battle for him in as as many years. This time hurts more, given expectations over the past three days, but also seeing Downs live up to the hype as a freshman.

Sad that this confirms it's purely a cash play. He doesn't really know anybody at Ohio State. He's not about to win a national title with Ryan Day's soft team, BoB having receivers run into each other, and McLaughlin going bowling with every other snap.

This proves the danger of people absolutely obsessing over every scrap of news eight months before DeBoer’s first team plays its first down in anger against an opponent.

Ryan Day is on the clock. The Big Trophy for Go Blue has the heat dialed up on Day. The high dollar folks are spending money to get back within the taillights of Go Blue.

F Downs and his helicopter father.

The past 3-4 yrs in there biggest games you have seen multiple teams exposed OSU's vulnerability on the back end. So I can see why it's believable that they would start over paying for a kid like Downs.
When you look back to our trouncing of Osu in the Natty there Lb'er and safeties were abused.
Then combined the Natty loss to UGa and Mich's now 3 straight win's with a National title on top.
Its natty or bust for Ryan Day.
Ryan's Day/OSU team is now faced with a do or die season.
Even though This coach has been to like 2 natty's in the past 4 yrs? This combined with having possible 11-1, 12-0 type seasons.
Under that kind of pressure I can see there NIL player value is going to be much higher and border line desperate this yr.
It's all leading to more open bidding wars of NIL money combined with unrestricted free agency windows causing kids like Downs value to balloon up. So there is noway these kids parents are going to not take those type of bags!.
College football is surly headed toward needing NFL typ GM's and NLI cap specialist in the very near future.
