Day hasn't been to two NCGs. His only NCG appearance was 2020 against Alabama. That was in a season where they were placed in the playoffs for playing just enough games to get bowl eligible. They played Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers, Indiana, Michigan State, and Northwestern and were put in the playoffs for beating those juggernauts.

They had a massive advantage in the playoffs that year because their players had been able to rest for half of the season and had yet to play a good team, but they still got humiliated by an Alabama squad that was missing multiple star players and even lost their Heisman winner right after halftime. There was nothing remotely impressive about that season for Ohio State or Day.
