Sankey just pulled the plug on fans attending the SEC basketball tournament in Nashville, according to Cecil Hurt. He also stated the edict applies to on-campus events like baseball and softball.

I am not sure how our baseball team will cope with not having anybody show up to their games.

I got a feeling this whole season may get put on hold very soon

Fricking bizarre but the hysteria has gotten out of control.

No they aren't.

Millions of Americans are going to come down with a bad flu in the next few weeks. Thousands will be killed from it (and those are *very* conservative estimates). Whatever we can do to prolong the course of this thing means a greater chance that our medical facilities can respond as efficiently as possible.

If anything we haven't been doing enough. Just because it primarily kills the young and elderly does not mean that the bug is a joke.

Absolutely. The medical community is about to get overwhelmed.

And for those thinking it is a joke. Sure, if you're in the 20 - 55 range with no previous health issues, you may have a mild case that feels like a cold. But you could transmit that to your Mom/Dad/Grandparents and kill them. It really isn't funny and the sooner the young people get that message the better.

Off soapbox.

I’ll trust the CDC and WHO over Dr. Trump.

Trump has already said this will be over by April.

Why should I believe that?

No one can predict the seriousness of the coronavirus in this country. But if you're going to err, then we should err on the side of serious caution. The NBA was pushed to this in a hurry and March Madness will quickly follow. It feels like in another week it's going to be really hard to find a live sporting event on the TV.

Just waiting to hear that the AHSAA has cancelled all athletic events for the rest of the semester. About to have a lot more free time at night.

I don’t think that it is as serious as the media is making it out to be. Not a doctor, but I have several friends that are doctors. The generally feeling is that it is a more severe cold which is why older people and people with respiratory issues are being effected. The flu is worse and has/will kill more people. As far as contractibility, I think I saw a doctor say it was about a 2. Swine flu was a 9 and measles’s were an 18.

Seriously, look at a bottle of Lysol. Human Coronavirus is listed, but it is a different strand. Just don’t be stupid. Wash your hands and sanitize.
