Probably because it is understood that he would be our best DC

I'd take Pruitt over Kirby.

Oh, and Sark.

Off the table or not, Pruitt over Kirby by a Saharan mile.

Also Sark over Kiffin.

I agree with the poster above that Sarkisian seemed to be a little more out in front with adjustments and wrinkles. I also think he's the best I've ever seen with motion and creating mismatches!

It’s unfortunate he didn’t coach that game. I think Kiffin was better at making an offense work with limited QBs (Sims and Hurts).

It really is but Saban was left with no choice. Think about how far Kiffin had to take things for Saban to make a move like that for the National Championship game. He had completely checked out. The Washington game plan was abysmal.

It’s a shame because I think if he had been focused, he could’ve drawn up a few more plays in the second half than Sark could’ve.

Ehh..:

We largely lost 2016 because Bo broke his leg mid game and Hurts couldn’t complete a pass when Sark called it three times

I don’t think Kiffin changes much there, Sark and him ran the same offense

I think Kiffin would have stuck with the run more. Sark didn't seem to trust Damien Harris and Josh Jacobs to run the ball effectively. On our last 3 drives that ended in punts (before the Hurts TD run):

Harris run (for a first down)
Hurts run
Hurts incomplete pass
Hurt pass short of the sticks (Punt)

Jacobs run
Hurts run
Hurts run (Punt)

Harris run
Hurts run
Hurts incomplete pass (Punt)

The RBs never got consecutive attempts after Bo got hurt. Sark put the ball in Hurts' hands too much. I think Kiffin calls a better game and Bama wins if he's calling the plays and has his head on right.

THAT was a huge problem. He shouldn’t have called so many passes when he knew the TF QB was struggling to complete them. We had Josh Jacobs and Damien Harris who had like 8 combined carries in the game. Maybe they wouldn’t have been as effective as Bo but it would’ve taken time off the clock and given the defense a little more rest. Hell even a few seconds here and there and Clemson wouldn’t have had time to score a TD at the end
