Does anyone have a few names of players that we are targeting in the portal? I know LT Overton, but I don't know many others that we are actively pursuing...

Not sure we’ve ever had a better trio at CB in terms of readiness at the time than Koolaid/Arnold/Amos.

He didn't participate in Senior day so it seems obvious he plans on returning. Now will that be here or in the portal? Who knows...but I'd think it's safe to say it'll be here. He has to know he has a great shot at starting at corner next season.
If you have 1 year left to impress the NFL and you can do it at Bama why on Earth would you go somewhere else?
I feel confident Amos will be one of our starting corners next year.

Our edge depth is fine. Keely, Pierre, Koht, Russaw, etc.
We need interior DL imo. I’d pay a lot of money for us to get a dominant bull rushing DT/NT type. Maybe get Jamon Dumas-Johnson and get 1 badass safety to go with Downs. We do that, we are fricking cooking.

He's a LB? I don't know that this is a need.
I definitely agree with you that we need a dominant DT. I vote that we throw huge bags at Walter Nolan and LT Overton, and call it a day.
We may have taken a WR before the Ryan Williams reclassification (and still might), but who knows...
Also, I'm greedy. Give me the OU OT to replace Latham

I think we lose multiple ILB’s. I think Lawson and Campbell are already back. Marshall needs to go to the NFL. I don’t think he can max his stock out anymore. He’s proven to be a good run stopper and bull rushing LB. He is probably a solid 4-6th round guy.
Lawson’s injuries and lack of experience after him and Campbell makes me think we need another ILB. A space LB. Dumas Johnson is probably the single best coverage LB in college football. We rotated 3 this year and it’s been good. One is always going to be dinged up during the regular season as well. You truly need 3 to be effective from injuries, snap counts, and multiplicity goes. Look at when our defense was elite. We always rotated 3 ILBs.

Absolutely agree, and I'm not saying we shouldn't take him! My only point was that priorities are probably at other positions first.
You are correct about lack of experience behind Lawson and Campbell. I'm curious if Russaw can play standing up. I know Shawn Murphy looked pretty good when he entered the game against Chattanooga. Blackshire has shown flashes this season... am I missing any?

If we can keep Murphy I’ll be happy. I think he has the most upside and is the best to take the 3rd LB spot in the rotation. Blackshire is explosive and can hit, but I just see him getting burnt a lot. I could see both transferring though.

Diggs is a baller! Just look at what he did to us while at A&M. A definite must get, regardless of what young talent we have. He’s a proven commodity.

You referring to Fadil Diggs? I thought I saw that he was being predicted to Syracuse... maybe following ERob up there. I would prefer he come to Bama. He can bring Nolan and Overton with him. He can make room

I kind of only want Overton or Diggs. I don't know what that locker room was like, but my gut tells me we should only bring in one guy from that team .

Ty Simpson. Just have a hunch that if he enters the portal, Freeze will be all over him.
I also think that Ty is looking at his third year. If he can get a starting spot somewhere, and had a good year, he can jump to the NFL. It would do him better to go the ACC, or big 12 where he would face worse defenses and be in pass happier offenses, but I think he would too Freeze's list.

I hate this, but I agree. I think we'd be okay with Milroe, Lonergan, Sayin, and Holstein (or someone else), but it'd suck to lose a guy with Ty's skill set.
