Exactly what I was saying. I honestly do hope that Milroe has refined his passing game because he's a freakish athlete running the ball. We also have Ty who is a terrific passing QB that can run the ball. Maybe not as dynamic as Jalen but a very underrated athlete in his own right. His dad is a college coach so the intangibles are there. Also heard that the true freshmen, Holstein and Lonergan, are very talented as well. Obviously young and inexperienced but they will learn a lot. I like where Bama is at QB right now.

Milroe is certainly looking good but we also have to remember that the defense is without several key players this spring
I really hope that Milroe looking good has more to do with his ability rather than several key players being out.
Even with starters on defense out, I expect (hope) that unit to not roll over and die. Really want to get back to the days of being able to rotate many high caliber players across the defense (especially the front seven).

Can't believe Saban didn't intervene there
This is where I don't quite understand. Kind of curious myself why no one on the coaching staff said, "Hey, we may should do something different here." Maybe Saban was ok with that gameplan. Idk!

The front seven has a lot of depth. Not sure that is on the level like we saw from 2015-2017 but there are a lot of bodies. The secondary concerns me right now but let's hope that the coaches get that taken care of. Hopefully Arnold will take the next step in his development at corner. We also have to realize that Alabama's wide receivers are very talented and the secondary will be tested every single day against them.

Love to hear it. I think the DL should be getting back to very good/elite in short order. Curious to see what kind of player Damon Payne becomes this year - he started getting some serious reps later in the season last year, as with Jah Latham.
Expecting Oatis and James Smith to make some noise around the SEC next year.

The main thing that I want to see is if Justin Eboigbe returns to full strength for the season. Losing him was a major blow to the defensive line. He was playing the best ball of his career when that injury happened. First, I hope that he's fully ready to go. Neck injuries are scary and obviously nothing to play around with. I've seen pictures of him practicing and he is an absolute unit.

We were spoiled beyond belief in 2019 and 2020 having Sark call plays. O'Brien was abysmal last year comparably speaking. No creativity at all.
I agree, we went from one end of the spectrum to the other in terms of creativity and creating mismatches.

What a stupid thing to say. Here's Saban's full remarks.
quote:
“I think both guys have made really good progress,” Saban said. “We’re not disappointed in anybody’s progress. I thought they both played well in the scrimmage. Both guys have had their moments in practice. They’ve also had learning opportunities and they’ve made mistakes. Both of them have responded very well and made improvements so there’s really no, I don’t have an evaluation other than the fact we’re coaching every one of the four quarterbacks that we have in the program every day to try to help them be the best players they can be. We’re going to continue to do that and hopefully, those guys will continue to have the right attitude about trying to play winning football at the position.”
Don't see anything to be concerned about.

Golden Flake A-Day Details Announced
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The 2023 Alabama Golden Flake A-Day Game will be played on Saturday, April 22 at 2 p.m. CT in Bryant-Denny Stadium and will include a full day of activities and experiences.
The A-Day Game will serve as the 15th and final practice of the spring. All gates open at 11:30 a.m. and admission will once again be free to the public with the first 5,000 fans receiving a limited-edition A-Day poster, courtesy of Golden Flake. The general public may enter at Gates 14-17, 21-24, or 47-53 for lower-level and ADA accessible seating. Upper-level access will be available only via Gates 7, 28 (elevator), and 30.
It will be the program's 16th A-Day Game under the direction of seven-time national championship coach Nick Saban. A myriad of activities punctuates the 2023 Golden Flake A-Day Game that will be televised on SEC Network+ with Jordan Rodgers and Roy Phillpott calling the game.
Crimson Tide fans once again have the opportunity to upgrade their experience at the Golden Flake A-Day Game with a reserved chairback or seating in various premium seating locations inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Doors for the TIDE PRIDE Luncheon at Coleman Coliseum open at 10:30 a.m. with Nick Saban, Nate Oats and AD Greg Byrne all scheduled to speak. The Alumni Flag Football Game is slated to begin at 11:30 a.m. inside Bryant-Denny Stadium and will feature former Alabama standouts with gate 20 slated to open at 11 a.m. for the flag football game. The game will consist of two 20-minute halves and should wrap up around 12:15 p.m.
One of the great traditions at The University of Alabama, which is always open to the public, is the annual Walk of Fame Ceremony at Denny Chimes. At approximately 12:15 p.m. on A-Day, Coach Saban and 2022 captains Will Anderson Jr., Jordan Battle and Bryce Young will address the crowd. The captains will then leave prints of their hands and cleats in the concrete as they join a long list of Crimson Tide greats at Denny Chimes.
The football team will then hold its Walk of Champions, scheduled for 12:50 p.m., when arriving at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The softball team hosts Auburn at 8 p.m. Friday, April 21 in game one of its three-game series at Rhoads Stadium with game two scheduled for Saturday, April 22 at 3 p.m. and the series wrapping up on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Alabama track and field hosts the Crimson Tide Invitational on April 21 and 22 at the Sam Bailey Track and Field Complex.
Public parking for A-Day is free and available in a first-come, first-served in select lots. Fans can also purchase a parking pass in the Stadium Drive Deck, a 4-minute walk from the Walk of Champions and Bryant-Denny Stadium's north end.
Once again, Alabama's clear bag policy will be in effect during the 2023 season beginning with the A-Day Game. Familiarize yourself with the clear bag policy and enhanced security measures that will be in place at Bryant-Denny Stadium before arriving.
