Alabama needs an elite passer this year. The wide receivers are very talented and they need a dependable quarterback to get them the ball consistently. I think that some people are sleeping on Ty’s ability to run. He’s very athletic.

Very athletic compared to who. If he is the best QB he will play imo. Saban will give Milroe a chance if he drops the ball then he done.

I mean I hear you. Dude got his arse thrown with one hand. Let’s not act like Perry is a junior high kid. He’s a scholarship athlete on our D line.

McVay looks like a stud in that clip. What's the story on that kid?

Saban can’t really afford for either to transfer out. My guess is he takes the competition into game 1. Whichever QB is best against MTSU will likely start vs Texas. And then we cross our fingers that the loser of the battle sticks it out ala Jalen Hurts instead of taking his ball and going home ala Blake Barnett. My money would be on Simpson but I won’t be shocked if Milroe improves a bunch and wins the thing.

That’s not how NIL/portal era QB management works.

Id bet a lot of money on one of them transferring, I just hope it doesn’t happen during the season.

That’s exactly what I mean. We just need them both to stick through the season. Obviously the loser is out after the season no matter what.

The transfer windows, which will go into effect in time for the 2022-23 season, will allow 60 days per year for athletes to enter the portal and maintain immediate eligibility for first-time transfers. For fall sports like football, the period will be split into two periods. The first, a 45-day period, will start the day after championship selections are made. A second window will be instituted from May 1-15 so players can enter the transfer portal after spring camp.

Ultimately it doesn't matter how many he had. He was an emergency starter filling in for a Heisman winner. His nerves were probably off the charts to replicate what Bryce was capable of doing.

That's not his game and that's fine. If he can translate his style of play to winning football, then I don't give a shite what his completion percentage is or how many yards he passes for in a game.

Win the games, win the titles. That is all that matters.

Agreed. However our best shot this year is to play the best passer. We don't need another runner at QB. We have Jase, Roydell, and Jamarion returning and Haynes and Young incoming. We're stacked at RB. We need a distributor at QB. Maybe Milroe is that guy. If he is great. But dynamic running ability shouldn't determine the QB.

That is a very big IF. He needs a Blake Sims type year for us to reach our goals and Lane isn’t walking through that door.

Smart money is on Simpson. Milroe will get his shot though to prove the doubters wrong. I just hope it doesn’t cost us a Win vs Texas.

My hope is that both guys split time in the MTSU game and then Saban names the full time starter for the Texas game. Like when AJ McCarron and Philip Sims competed for the job in 2011.

Alabama's Offensive Line Seeks Intensity, Discipline after Lackluster 2022 Season (SI)

Last year, the Crimson Tide was tied as the second-most penalized team in all of Division I college football.

Stroud was a 3 to 1 favorite to be the #1 pick a few days ago. Now he’s only 1.5 to 1. Major smoke that the Panthers are gonna go with Young

Anyone headed to the scrimmage tomorrow? If so, what time is it? Just curious when we can expect the leaks to start

Boz has shared a decent amount of scrimmage info the last few years. Hopefully that trend continues. I hate not having any info during spring and fall camp.
