True. But historically players who transfer from Alabama for depth chart reasons don't tend to find much success elsewhere. The only exception I can think of is Kamara and his transfer was more of a constantly in the doghouse issue wasn't it?

Gmac sort of agreed with you on Monday. They were discussing Saban's rant about our tight end. Gmac said he had it on good authority that a large number of Alabama players were missing practice because of bumps and bruises.
I guess Billingsley must have been one of them, but Gmac said the rant was directed at the team. Gmac said when he was at Alabama the S & C coach made you so miserable that you would rather be practicing than be over with him, so players didnt really didnt want to miss practice.

Aaron Robinson did well, TJ Simmons did pretty well, BJ Emmons has at least been in NFL camps, Kendall Sfeffield and Mo Smith played quite a bit at their new places…there’s obviously more that have done very little as you say.

It’d be interesting to see the success rate based on the reason why they left.

Like I said, if you listen to Saban closely, it’s not hard to figure out what his concerns are. He’s been pretty clear about his concerns for this squad. There’s a reason repeat champs are so rare. You tend to lose a little edge, a little toughness, a little extra work and dedication that it took to climb the mountain last year. I know Saban is doing his best to get stuff corrected before it’s too late. We will see how the leadership is among the players. That may be the key. Hopefully we have a few alphas that will set the bar and create hell for those who don’t reach it.

When Greg played at UA, as we know, Scott Cochran was the S&C coach. Cochran ran our players into the ground and his methods caused injuries. This is a new day and time. We have modern strength and conditioning coaches now. I don't know if it's a great idea to run our guys into the ground before the seasons starts. Alabama has a very tough schedule this year. There is a fine line between being tough on players and saving their bodies for a long season. Just thinking out loud.

I think we worry every year right before the season starts and even during, even in the years we win it all. Saban and the players usually figure it out once the lights come on. I’m nervous of course, but you can’t not have faith in what Saban has built and the support systems in place.

I’d bet if you went back to this same time every year on the rant it’s the same shite. We have a good team, will they gel and play for it all is yet to be determined.

I feel good knowing that this defense will kick arse. I am very confident in that fact. The offense will come around. Bryce will be good, our RBs will be good. But the damn defense is gonna frick people up on Saturdays.

Does this year’s team have enough leaders to keep the culture working?

I know they will work it out. But does anyone else find it strange that Tyson and Hall have the same numbers with both being on offense, and a good chance of both being on the field at the same time with the 2nd unit.

Really, I think we can all confidently say that our run game is going to be good at a minimum. With us being a defensive team this year, that just plays into our strengths and will give Bryce and company plenty of time to figure it out.

We are as set up as we possibly could be for a season where we have to rebuild our passing game.
