Here's a scrimmage report from AL.Com
quote:

Offense

— Bryce Young, the favorite to replace Mac Jones as the Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback, had a strong showing. The former five-star recruit had in the range of four touchdown passes, including a couple against Alabama’s first-team defense. Two of the touchdown passes went to tight end Cameron Latu. The others went to wide receivers Javon Baker and Xavier Williams. The first Young-Latu touchdown was set up by a big gain on a pass from Young to wide receiver Slade Bolden. “I thought Bryce did a pretty good job of managing the game and was accurate with the ball and did a nice job,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said. “Made a few explosive plays. But I thought really did a good job of managing the whole situation on offense when he was in there.”

— Latu seems to be off to a good start to the spring. After being praised by Saban last week, the redshirt junior tight end had the two touchdown catches Friday. “Latu has done a really good job so far,” Saban said last week. “He’s really showing some maturity and done a really good job.”

— Junior running back Keilan Robinson, who is back after opting out of last season, broke at least one run for a decent-sized gain during the scrimmage.

Defense

— First-team safety DeMarcco Hellams had a pick-six early in the scrimmage, intercepting a pass from quarterback Paul Tyson and returning it for a touchdown.

— Not like it should be a surprise but outside linebackers Will Anderson and Christopher Allen were both active and disruptive throughout the scrimmage. Both had multiple sacks. It sounds like junior King Mwikuta and sophomore Quandarrius Robinson were a couple other outside linebackers to record at least one sack.

— Jaylen Moody got the start at the inside linebacker spot to next to returning starter Christian Harris

Well, that just not possible. Slade was a freshman running the wildcat, but no way he contributes now

I know for a fact, we had another running back that had at least one decent gain today. I can’t reveal my sources. They are usually spot on with vague random stuff

I’m thankful that they are letting them heal up, but yea, it will be nice to have them back. I feel like previously, we would have had them out there

I just want those guys back healthy in time for summer work outs and then fall camp. Spring is a good time to get other guys reps and create depth. Players like Ekiyor, Metchie and Malachi Moore are guys that absolutely have to be healthy this year.

It wouldn't have been McClellan would it?

I can’t reveal too much, but Jase had a run of at least 2 yards. He did it more than once.

What’s up with some of the giant helmets in that scrimmage video clip?

Supposedly Kool-Aid McKinstry had a big scrimmage. Sounds like he’s the next great DB

Hopefully one of the freshman receivers step up. We need another first-round guy to complement Metchie

If Bryce is moving the ball up and down the field on our 1st team defense, which should be our best one since 2016, we're in business.

Tyson primarily faced the first-team of(de)fense and while faced with plenty of pressure, threw a lot of quick passes. Second-year quarterback Bryce Young ran the first-team offense and, for the most part, competed against the second-team defense where he had a successful day. (BOL nuggets)

I'm assuming they switched it up a little during yesterday's scrimmage. The article I posted stated that he threw two TDs against the 1st team defense, so I would assumed that switched things up for a little bit anyways.

When they did situational stuff -- third down, goal line, etc. -- they did some 1s vs. 1s. But during the scrimmage, it was 1s vs. 2s. (BOL nuggets)

The truth... In scrimmage, first team offense went against 2 defense, 2nd team offense went against 1st team defense every time in full scrimmage. In situations they did some ones on ones and 2 on 2 from 2 both ways, from 20, and third Downs.

Story of this scrimmage was defense. Charlie's summary is spot on. DL dominated the scrimmage. We are loaded. 1st team Eboigbe, Dale, Young/Ray rotated with 2nd team Latham/Wynn, Smith, Burroughs. LBs are best in country with 1st team Allen and Anderson outside and Harris and Moody inside. 2nd team was Sanders, Mwikuta, Lee, and Lawson.

DB first team as expected with Jones and Armour-Davis at corners, Battle and Hellams at safeties, Branch at nickel. 2nd team corners were McKinstry and Banks. 2nd team safeties Story and Wright.

Bryce had a good day. Bryce is clearly one as he took every first team rep. He moved ball on most drives with ones going against twos. He scored on two drives. Next, They did situational plays in third down, one offense against one defense and Bryce was sacked 4 times out of 8. Again 1 defense was great, nobody could block 4 and 31. Bryce had some great passes in situational 1 offense on 1 def from 20 and 2 with several TDs. Bryce was very calm and never got rattled.

Paul and Jalen had good day but not as good as Bryce. Paul was with 2 offense going against 1 defense. He had some good passes but was rushed on most every pass. 2 offense moved ball some but 1 defense was clearly better. He was sacked once as he took a lot of short quick passes 5 to 20 yards. Jalen struggled with rush and was sacked a lot. Paul is clearly second team followed by Jalen then Braxton.

RBs were ok but DL was better than OL. K Robinson had longest run followed by McClellan. Keilan has a speed the others don’t! He might be the burst we need. Brian was solid and ran strong.

Slade, Baker and Latu had best day.. Latu caught several TDs in situational offense from 20 and 5. Slade had some third down catches and so did Baker. Billingsley, Xavier, Jones Bell, Holden, Hall, Brooks, and Leary all caught passes. We did not have any 50 yard bombs like in the past but because of rush. Baker had longest play on quick hitter!

OL with injuries will get better over time. Starters did pretty good. The starters were LT Neal, LG Tommy Brown, C Owens, RG Cohen, RT George and TE Randolph. Second team was Kight, Bowles, Dalcourt, McLaughlin, Latham. Ferguson and Brockmeyer played too. OL group is very young but everyone has confidence in them. But DL is ahead!

Great day overall!
