Not sure he even matters anymore. He's about as average as you can get.

Saban said a Bama player did test positive this week, which is to be expected since the players left the bubble and went home.

Feels like the football season is starting to slip away. Really makes basketball a serious concern.

Nope, Maryland's tweet said it's cancelled with no make up

Yep. Basketball teams have far fewer people to account for on each team, but one positive is also likely to wipe out all, or almost all, of a team after contact quarantines and there's so much more travel involved.

Nah...just Halloween outbreak. And I even use the term outbreak loosely. The problem is contact tracing and strategic use of contact tracing to back out of games that you’re going to get destroyed. LSU has 4 positives, or at least that was all at the time of the announcement. 4...FOUR...yet they supposedly didn’t have any tight ends, deep snappers, only 1 QB, etc.

Use the Saban model. Test them 3 days in a row and if negative play the game.

yea, that contact tracing is where the schools can fudge or play with the numbers. What is a contact? Missouri had one player test positive, but with contact tracing they say they dont have enough to play. All the SEC ADs want to play makeups the week after the SEC champ game if the teams are not in that Champ game. Which means they will probably figure out a way to get the games involving Ala, FL, A&M played before the Champ game.

... Sankey said the biggest challenge to playing continues to be the number of players held out because of contact tracing as opposed to players with positive test results.

Policies around contact tracing, Sankey said, are not determined by the SEC but rather at a local level. "Contact tracing has the potential to magnify even one positive test," he said...

We knew that contact tracing as defined for college football was going to be the elephant in the room. The NFL can have a few guys test positive and even if you happen to get caught up in the tracing, in a few days, if you test negative, you're back on the field. This past weekend has suddenly just taken all the wiggle room out of our protocol for the SEC.

Sending players home during the bye week was a really really dumb idea. Alabama had the protocols to survive even that, but nobody else is as organized and prepared as Saban. Could have seen this coming a mile away. Schools should have kept players on campus in their bubble. They can go home and see mommy next month for Christmas.

I agree, but there's chatter LSU's outbreak likely came from players attending a Halloween party.

It seems to me contact tracing should require only 5 days of quarantine and tests on days 1, 3 & 5. If those 3 tests are negative and they have no symptoms, then let them practice and play.
