That game was really a testament of who Hurts is. And what Saban preaches more then anything.

Absolutely. Hurts won me over long before that though. Hope he is successful in the NFL.

I agree with most of this but I think Robert Foster never had a chance to showcase his skills like the Big 3 and Ridley.

It was pure Will to beat the team who had him replaced. It’s why Saban was so emotional after the game. Was incredible.

If our offensive coordinator is pushing for a completely green true freshman to get more time with the ones, and if there is any chance that Young could have taken McCorckle's spot if only for the spring, then I am afraid we are in for a disappointing season.

The season would be more a lot enjoyable without such drivel.

Agree. Even though they lost to Clemson (2017) Hurts scored what should have been the winning TD. D was just exhausted, couldn’t stop Watson that night on the final drive.

Become a fan of Watson after that game. Man took a beating and refused to lose that game.

Don't you have a thread to monitor for non-conforming posts of something?

Saban is more experienced handling a talented true freshman QB. With that said, I do believe Mac will get ample opportunities to lead this team to a championship and Bryce will get a lot of snaps once the games are decided. As long as Mac isn't turning the ball over he'll likely remain starter the entire season.

I agree, Mac will have every opportunity to lead this team this year. It's up to Mac to capitalize on those opportunities and by all accounts it sounds like that's exactly what hes doing. The only part I do disagree with though is I think covid has brought in a whole different dynamic to this season. We need able bodies at every position just in case someone gets quarantine. So I think we will see Mac start but I believe Bryce will get some on the job training early in games while the game is still close to get him up to speed as quickly as possible. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 3 series rotation between Mac and Bryce

I gotta admit. What I want to see this year is a team playing pissed off.

I wanna see some Linebackers flying around like a F22 raptor looking unleash hell.

I wanna see FS & SS roaming the backend striking fear in WR’s the way Ronnie Lott did. Bone crushing hits.

I wanna see the DL make a QB fear for his well being staying in the pocket. If you’re going to late hit the QB, make it count. Knock the crack outta his arse

Basically I just wanna see the Def play like they use too. I’m not asking for much. Just bring the pain. Just make their arse quit.

So apparently Bryce threw 2 interceptions Saturday and also failed to score a touchdown playing 2s vs 2s on 6 possessions. Mac Jones scored a TD on every possession when he played 1s vs 1s and hasn't thrown any picks at both scrimmages. Bryce actually performed better against the 1s. Mac also performed better against the 1s.

I guess everyone needs to pump the brakes on the Bryce hype train a little bit. Idk though it seems like there is contradictions on these insider reports and rumors. Almost makes me think somebody is spreading misinformation since no reporters are able to watch practice

They always are. I hope no one is thinking Young is ready to start now. He’s talented but it needs to be harnessed and trained.

Didn't Clemson's offense run 99 plays? Any defense would eventually give out being on the field defending that many plays vs a good offense. Clemson had scored 14 pts at the end of the 3rd quarter. An understandably tired defense gave up 3 tds in the 4th quarter.

If Bama's wouldn't have been going 3 and out most of the 2nd half of that game, Bama's defense wouldn't have been so gassed.

It's easy to stop an offense with no threat of an passing attack.

Like it or not we all better hope Bryce is ready to start because things can happen during the course of a season.

Robert Foster was about to have a huge year in 2015 until he got hurt. He was playing great those 1st 3 or so games

Yep, especially with the pandemic going on, Mac could wind up in a 14-day quarantine at any time.

Hmmm, phenom freshman QB can’t beat out the veteran because the kid keeps throwing interceptions in scrimmages. Seems like I’ve heard this story before...

I've heard a rumor that Mac may not need to quarantine.

Again.
