That's just an opinion. Does anyone actually believe Saban will be coaching at 75 or 80?

The guy isn't going to be at Bama forever, the time is coming in the near future when Saban will not be the head coach at Alabama.

I could see him going to 75. He will be 69 this season so 7 more years.

The odds of Saban coaching a game in his 80s are significantly greater than him quitting coaching in order to become the SEC commissioner or go work for the NCAA like you seem to believe he will.

No good reason not to believe it, because that's exactly what he's said he's planning to do. I have A LOT MORE faith in him doing what he says he'll do than in your worthless opinion, based solely on your own imagination, that he'll do the opposite of what he's said. And I doubt anyone who's sane believes that imagined opinion of yours over what Coach Saban has said.

Breaking: I’m going to talk some actual football in this thread.

I’m pretty excited about the OL for this year. It seems the general consensus is:

LT Alex Leatherwood
LG Deonte Brown
C Chris Owens
RG Landon Dickerson
RT Evan Neal

That’s 4 senior starters with tons of experience. And a true sophomore that started 13 games in 2019.

DJ Dale clip at practice

After seeing this clip and everything we've been hearing about the defense, I'm pumped about the defense. I know it's the second string oline and it's only 1 play but man does that defense look beautiful. DJ Dale is going to be hard to handle for opposing teams. I also love seeing Ben Davis getting to the ball carrier just as quick with the other LBs playing their gaps correctly.

The question will be can Bama stop anybody that is somebody. We'll see.

I don’t think Owens holds the starting center spot. I think Dickerson gets kicked over and they fill his vacant guard spot with someone else. Owens has struggled with physical DL so far.

The offensive line has a chance to be as good as the 2012 unit. In fact, I think that this group has more quality depth. Kendall Randolph has a lot of experience behind the starting group. I legitimately believe that there are three guys who could start at center. Owens, Ekiyor and Dalcourt. Plus you have a two fifth year seniors at tight end.

I can see Saban making it until his late 70s or early 80s for sure.

I think Saban, low key, wants to leave no doubt he was better between him and Bear Bryant. He's 157-23 at Alabama. That puts him just 75 wins behind Bryant's victory total at Alabama. If he continues to average 12 wins a season, he'll reach 232 victories in a little over six seasons.

Won't be long before we all get a first-hand look at what coach Saban and Sark have been brewing in the lab this off-season. Safe to say, the last 2 seasons, we have really been airing it out, big time. I can't wait to see the offensive principles of this year's Tide. From sideline to sideline a senior-laden, huge, and talented bunch of OL. I'm hearing that Brian Robinson is different too. Are we really going to be a more physical running team?

Not likely any media hound is going to drag that morsel of intel out of the coach before we get to Missouri. Other than the old adage, we are going to be "balanced." Which is pretty much code for anything these days. But I got this feeling.

We can pretty much do what we want. I expect to continue to air it out as I believe we are stronger at WR than we are at RB.

True story. So last night I am at the local HS game sitting by myself. Right before the game starts a group of college aged kids start sitting directly behind me and eventually about 20 or so are all shoulder to shoulder. Not one wearing a mask. I recognized a few from alabama.

the one directly behind me was leaning forward most of the game which put his face about 2 feet from the back of my head. My point being this. IF this is indicative of what the college kids are doing while on campus then we are going to continue to have large numbers of them get the virus.

I don't think the college football season is waiting for these kids to find religion. The workaround is hopefully there. Virtual classes that I hope last at least through the football season and basketball to boot. The only thing that would be better for our teams is if they all got in their car and went home. That's the cool thing about virtual, it travels.

my point is that when these college kids get into games, whether it be FB or BB they have no respect for others. All they are going to do is spread it from kid to kid. I am not talking about virtual classes. Do you think these kids are not getting together for parties.

I heard a number of them talking about the post game party and who was bringing the beer and which of them was going to need a designated driver. My point is that nothing seems to have changed with the young people mentality because 99.999999% will have mild symptoms and some may not even know they have it. The kid sitting right behind me had no respect for me. We did have a conversation about the game. But I kept my mask on as much as I could. I saw another AU kid who I know just got over the virus walking around with no mask on and had others near him.
